Chopper quit the band? Does anyone have resources stating that he did, for its not on the myspace or anywhere else.

Yes Chopper did quit the band. In a statement on the bands official website he said- "Yo dudes and dudettes! Chopper here. I'm gonna be taking off. I feel like it's time for me to move on to the next phase in my life. I don't exactly know what I'm gonna be getting into, but it'll be rad, for sure. Don't you worry your pretty little heads about me. I hope that the guys can find someone who kicks as much butt as I do to fill my shoes, but I doubt they will. J/K! Haha... Actually, I'm serious... But anyhooooo. You guys stay cool. Remain the raddest fans on the planet, and support these wierdos, and maybe I'll see ya around. Keep on truckin'!" On the disambiguation page, it's claimed the band is Christian Emo/Screamo band - however nothing in the article reflects the Christian aspect - anyone want to add something to justify this?

^There is no need for justification.

I would say Emery is about 50% christian and 50% non christian band there togther.

Ok, I will clear this up. Emery does have some Christian elements in their songs, as I have both of their CD's, but, the main reason Emery gets put in the Christian genre is because of their label. Emery is signed to Tooth and Nail.. which states on their website- "Tooth & Nail Records, an independent label headquartered in Seattle, Washington, was founded in 1993 as a means to give independent artists a forum to creatively express positivity through music." Tooth and Nail has also had many definite Christian bands, so, Tooth and Nail is basically a Christian based label, and any band signed to them is often put into the Christian genre. Im not saying Emery isn't a Christian band though, they're lyrics definitely reflect Christian aspest... they can be viewed at... [link to copyvio website removed]

they are definately christian, their first concert they played in south carolina was at Ground Zero in Spartanburg. I attended the show and they thanked god after they played. their music may not be in specific christian, but the bands members seem to be, and really if they are signed to tooth & nail they are put in that genre so whats wrong with them being labeled such?

Emery is 100% a christian band, I even asked Toby, lead singer, on Oct. 4, 2006 at the Electric Factory in Philly. He said they were all christians and that they were a christian band. He even preached to us!

Hmm, sounds like a good discussion. Emery is signed to a christian label (more or less) but to say Emery is or isn't christian may be difficult. We don't know if they are saved truly for only God can look at the heart, so we can only go by actions. I would probably call them roaring lambs- christian people but a secular band. But either way, they are safe to listen to and most likely are christian. But the sad truth is many "christian bands" somtimes use that to get somewhere. Or they say their christian bands but nobody knows it. To me, if you're christian, you should want people to know that you are and therefore it would be evident. However, I will not judge someone for the lack of their representation. So that is that. - JOE COWAN All of the members in Emery are Christian, but the band is reluctant to be labelled a Christian rock band. Although the band has a Christian outlook and mission, their concern is that being labeled as "Christian" will hinder their ability to reach their audience. In an interview with now defunct HardcoreChristian.com, Devin Shelton stated, I know for a while it was a big fad to like have a lot of Christian bands were just Christian guys in a band so I mean first and foremost we’re Christians above anything else ... obviously ... the band is going to come and go and it will be over one day and that’s just the way it goes. We are Christians first and foremost and therefore it has to impact what we do everyday as our job and in our lives so I mean… everyday we’ve got tons of Christian fans that their like, "Hey you guys are the best Christian band blah blah blah or one of the best or whatever," and that is fine, but we gave up on trying to draw that line because it’s pretty much you have to get out of the stigma of being labeled a Christian band where non-Christian people will listen to you because if you play in only Christian venues or you play with all Christian bands all the time you’re kind of shooting yourself in the foot for as far as having a career goes and even as ministry speaking ... ... I mean there is a place for that. There are bands out there like worship bands and stuff that are great at that and I think they are called to do that but we definitely are not called to do that. We tried it, we played in churches before and we have played with a lot of Christian bands several times and we felt really really out of place, we kind of felt like, it was almost like God was saying this isn’t what you guys are supposed to be doing. I agree in some sense. I think what Emery is trying to say is they are a Christian band, but not the same type of Christian band as say... Kutless or Falling Up. They don't want to be distributed only to the Christian market. It's kinda like shooting themselves in the foot. To get their point across (be it to convert, mend problems, help out, etc), distributing to only the Christian market wouldn't get their point across. It would be like trying to go to a Democratic convention and trying to find all the conservatives... Or like going to the desert to find water. It would just be hard. Hey peoples. Im not sure how to use wikipedia, but on thursday, 7 june 2007 at the Arena in Brisbane, Emery played 3 new songs from their upcoming album. Two of these were titled as followed: "The party song" and "Rock And Roll".

Since the split was released 6 years before this Emery formed, I think that it's referring to a different band. Thus, I am going to remove the connection between the split and Emery... 69.14.58.26 (talk) 01:03, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the members are from the bands Sachul, Joe 747, Simply Waynes and Oogie Brown.

This sentence seems out of place and grammatically incorrect. While I'm not questioning the validity of the facts, it seems as if the sentence implies that the majority of the members were also members of the other bands, while this may be true, my suspicion is that individual members of Emery were also members of these bands, but not together.Tuxhedoh (talk) 17:27, 11 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Can we have a discussion about the constant addition and removal of the line "All the members are christians"? It's getting a little bit ridiculous.

It is my opinion that if they are considered "Christian-rock", that could be included in the lead of this article. However, having a line about their religious views seems out of place. If you go check out the Beatles page, you won't find "One is atheist, one is hindu...". Maybe there is a place for a section about their religious views and how it affects their music, but it's not in the lead. Davelecave (talk) 00:03, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
