Timmy T (born Timothy Torres in Fresno, California on September 21, 1967) is a Freestyle pop singer and musician popular in the late 80's and early 90's. He is best known for his 1991 Billboard #1 single "One More Try." He also had other memorable hits such as "Time After Time" and "What Will I Do."

Timmy T started out in the 80's in small rap groups in Fresno, but felt that he would rather do dance music. He purchased a Moog synthesizer and a Roland TR-808 drum machine at a pawn shop, and recorded his first single, "Time After Time", in his garage. He delivered copies to a Fresno radio station and asked them to play his single. After the DJ played the song, there were many calls requesting who that was. The DJ recommended to Timmy T to take his record to radio stations in Los Angeles for more exposure. After Los Angeles pop station Power 106 played the record, Timmy got a record deal with Quality Records and released another single, "One More Try", which proved to be much more successful than his first single, climbing its way to the top of the Billboard charts.

Although Freestyle music has been a mainstay of New York and Miami, Timmy T was one of the most successful Freestyle artists to come from California.

He cut his first album, "Time After Time", featuring five self-produced, self-written tracks (including "Time After Time", "One More Try", and "What Will I Do"), and the remaning four being written and produced by others. He followed up with "All For Love", which wasn't as successful as his first album.

Timmy T has toured all over the world and performed on various TV shows through the early 90's. Following a financially draining divorce and having to raise his children, Timmy fell out of the public eye. Nowadays, Timmy tours with other Freestyle acts such as The Cover Girls, Stevie B, Lisa Lisa, and others on the club circuit.
