Luzzara is a commune in the province of Reggio Emilia, in Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is located at the northern end of the province and is bounded by the river named Po to the north as well as the provinces of Mantova and the region of Lombardy. Luzzara is the birthplace of the famous Italian actor Cesare Zavattini.

The population rose slowly from the unification of Italy but dropped in 1881 from 1871 but grew in 1901 and reached where the highest population once stood in 1931 but slowly dropped between the 1931 and 1991 census, but revived its growth in the 2001 census and continues to grow.
