Rose is the provisional title of an episode of the British science-fiction television series Doctor Who. Currently in production in Cardiff, Wales as of August 2004, it is due to be screened in early 2005 as the opening episode of the first new series of Doctor Who to be screened on British television since 1989.

The first new episode of Doctor Who to be produced anywhere in the world since the American TV Movie Doctor Who in 1996, Rose is an in-house production by BBC Wales for BBC ONE.

Written by the new series chief writer and executive producer Russell T. Davies, Rose introduces Christopher Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor and Billie Piper as his new companion Rose Tyler, and features the return of the Autons from the early 1970s Doctor Who stories Spearhead from Space and Terror of the Autons. It is directed by Keith Boak and produced by Phil Collinson.
