Charlie Carl Carlson, Jr.(born December 31, 1943 in Sanford, Florida), is a prolific American and Florida writer and novelist. He specializes in paranormal, strange events and places, and many historical books. Charlie Carlson has conducted many speeches and book signings at a number of large bookstores.

Charlie Carlson joined the US Army and spent two tours in Vietnam with the famed 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment (Blackhorse) and after 26 years retired as a Command Sergeant Major. In the early 1980's Charlie promoted the American Bluegrass Express which gave the lead singer Marty Raybon and his brother Tim Raybon (Shenandoah and Raybon Brothers) their musical start. Charlie Carlson served as president of the Seminole County Historical Society and started his writing career with many history books pertaining to Florida history and the Civil War. Carlson later began writing about the strange and paranormal with his book "Strange Florida" and portrayed Professor Charles Morehouse on the SciFi Channel's Sticks and Bones (a take off of the movie "Curse of the Blair Witch"). Charlie was selected to do a screen play for a movie production company that was producing a movie called "Ashley's Shadow" (based on a local Merrit Island, Florida legend about the haunting of Ashley's Tavern). The movie was never produced due to a hurricane destruction of the movie company's assets and equipment. Charlie turned the screen play into his first fiction novel called "Ashley's Shadow". Charlie Carlson was selected by the History Channel's Wierd US series to write a book called "Wierd Florida" which became Florida's best seller. The book also became a Florida phenomenon which many citizens base many events and vacations off of. Mr. Carlson currently lives just south of Daytona Beach, Florida on the east coast of Florida.

Mr. Carlson is known for his knowledge of history and strange events throughout history and Florida. His writing will take you to places most readers have never been, want to go, or are afraid to go.

Most of Mr. Carlson's books are based and set in Florida.
