Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateapokaiwhenuakitanatahu is the name of a hill in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. At 85 letters, it is one of the longest placenames in the world. It has also been spelled as: Tetaumatawhakatangihangakoauaotamateaurehaeaturipukapihimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuaakitanarahu, which is 92 letters, and has been entered into the Guinness Book of Records as such.


Krungthepmahanakornamornratanakosinmahintarayutthayamahadilokphopnopparatrajathaniburiromudomrajaniwesmahasatharnamornphimarnavatarnsathitsakkattiyavisanukamprasit, which is the full name of Bangkok, is recognised by the Guinness Book of Records as the longest placename in the world, however it is not in use.
