I am Jimmy Giles, a candidate for Mississippi's Third Congressional District and I have endorsed Donald J. Trump for President. I edited https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Endorsements_for_the_Republican_Party_presidential_primaries,_2016#Donald_Trump with the following:

Candidates

  • Jimmy Giles, candidate for Mississippi's Third Congressional District.[1]

Someone has deleted my endorsement and tagged it vandalism.

Wiki Editor, please advise and help.

Thank you,

Jimmy Giles

Dear Jimmy Giles,

There are some criteria regarding the people whose endorsements we record in that list. In particular, for people who are not Republican National Convention delegates, statewide officials, or state legislators, we require the endorser to be notable enough to be the subject of a Wikipedia article of their own. Candidates for political office like yourself generally are not considered notable enough to be article subjects (since, basically, paying $200 and signing a statement of intent is enough to become a candidate - that on its own is hardly a notable achievement). For this reason your endorsement was not considered significant enough to be mentioned on that list.

The "possible vandalism" tag was added by an automated filter, not by a human editor. These filters are designed to point out possibly problematic edits for human review. In this case the "vandalism" tag was a false positive. See <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:Edit_filter> for more information on those filters.
