The Stars and Stripes Triogy is a collection of three alternate history novels written by [[Harry Harrison]. All three books work around the POD (Point of Divergence) of British involvement in the American Civil War after the Trent Affair.

The series has been heavily criterised by those in the alternate history world, mainly for being ludicously pro-american and full of a) factual errors (Texas is reported to have no slaves when in fact it was one of the strongest pro-slavery states), b) endless steerotypes of everyone from British nobs to Russian statesmen, and c)oft-repeated historical phases - General Lee repeats his famous quote about war being terrible at least once per book.

Although the books show signs of considerable research (although lacking in naval matters), they are tainted by wishful thinking and the desire of the author to ensure that the best-case outcome is reached - even though it is completely improbable.

The series is generally considered the most well known publised form of 'ameriwank'.
