James Seth Frankoff (born August 27, 1988) is a relief pitcher for the Triple A Iowa Cubs in the Chicago Cubs organization.

He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and attended Apex High School before attending University of North Carolina at Wilmington.[1] He was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the 27th round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft and played in their system from 2010 to 2015.[2] In 2013, he earned a spot in the Arizona Fall League. In 2014, he reached Triple A for the first time.[3] He joined the Los Angeles Dodgers system in 2016 and the Cubs system for 2017. One source says, "he checks most of the boxes ... he rarely walks hitters, which is a standard draw for the Cubs brass," in explaining why Chicago signed him.[4]

He was a minor league Mid-Season All-Star in 2012 and 2014.[5][6]

In 2007, he was a member of the United States national baseball team.[7]

In the past, he has been projected as a major league middle reliever.[8]
