Computer Game, Turn Based Strategy, Science Fiction Related.

Functions on Windows 3.11, 95, and 98 computers. Created in 1997.

Classic Battle between the Human Race and some alien culture (in this case the Taurans) all over a misunderstanding.

Fight for territories and then duke it out in a final confrontation landing your troops right on the enemy capital to take it for your side. Turns involve Attacking and Defending and/or Repairing destroyed defenses. Considered extremely Tactical for its time.

Modes include

  • Fallen Haven Mode (standard campaign mode)
  • Last Stand (advanced campaign mode)
  • Quick Start (only four territories with a mad rush for the finish)

The armies of the Humans are relatively simple and rugged while the armies of the Taurans are technologically advanced and relatively brittle (with a few exceptions).

Both sides had the same units, albeit for a couple of differences:

The Humans had the Buggy and the Gunship, and the Taurans had the Mega Tank and the S.H.O.G

The Buggy is a fast and mobile vehicle, armed with a laser gun and a laser cannon. It has 300 AP's (action points) when basically created (unless research into action points has been put into action in which case it can rise to 450 AP's). However its main weakness is its lack of armour (much like many of the Human units)

The Gunship has a passing resemblance to the Warhammer 40,000 flyer the ThunderHawk Gunship. it is the most powerful Human unit, and with its hover ability makes it more agile than most Tauran units. It is armed with an Artillery cannon and Twin lasers, and is the most heavily armoured of the Human units.

The Tauran S.H.O.G is basically a hovering artillery platform, but with a shorter range and less destructive shell. The back-up weapon is two small cannon which are only useful against infantry.

The Mega Tank has the most powerful weapon in the game: The Mega Cannon. it deals (basic) 120 damage in a 9 square area meaning certain death for all those in its blast zone. It is heavily armoured but, slow meaning even infantry can take it out if they get in the right place.
