Machiko Satonaka (里中 満智子, Satonaka Machiko, born 24 January 1948) is a Japanese shōjo manga artist. She debuted in 1964 with Pia no Shouzou in Shōjo Friend, for which she received Kodansha New Faces award. She has received multiple awards, including the 1982 Kodansha Manga Award for general manga for Karyūdo no Seiza (Constellation of the Hunter)[1] and a Lifetime Works and Cultural Activities award from the Japan Ministry of Culture and Science in 2006.[2]
