Megasus

Megasus is a doom metal band formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 2006. The group's sound is as much influenced by doom metal acts such as Electric Wizard and Black Sabbath as it is by other Providence Noise bands.

The band started as a side project formed by ex members of Laurels, Amazing Royal Crowns and current members of Made In Mexico and Lightning Bolt. In mid 2006, Ryan Lesser, Jason Kendall and Paul Lyons invited Dare Matheson from Made In Mexico to play drums for a recording of Red Lottery as a submission for the Playstation 2 game Guitar Hero 2. After recording Red Lottery, Megasus lost Matheson and gained Lightning Bolt bassist Brian Gibson as the new full time drummer.

Megasus quickly became one of the most controversial acts on the Guitar Hero release, polarizing audiences with the game's only includion of slow, doomy metal.

The band is currently recording an EP for release in 2007.
