Location of Nishikan-ku in Niigata City

Nishikan-ku (西蒲区, Nishikan-ku) is one of the eight wards of Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The ward was created on April 1, 2007 when Niigata became a government-designated city .

Nishikan-ku is composed of five former independent districts. They were the towns and villages of Maki, Nishikawa, Iwamuro, Katahigashi and Nakanokuchi.
