George Bedford Daniel was born on March 26, 1990 (age 24) in Brussels, Belgium.[1] He is the drummer/back up vocalist and also songwriter and producer for the alternative rock/indie rock band The 1975.[2] He met his fellow band mates Matty Healy, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald at Wilmslow High School near Manchester, England. In 2002, Healy (originally the band's drummer) approached Daniel to ask him to be the final member of the band, which sealed the final line up after a former band member left. This lead to Healy becoming lead vocalist and Daniel being the permanent drummer. They have performed under the names Talk House, The Slowdown, Bigsleep, and Drive Like I Do prior to deciding on their current name.[3] In 2012, they released their first EP Facedown on the record label Dirty Hits[4] In 2013, they released their self titled album The 1975.[5] The band's main inspirations for their music include their own life experiences and films by filmmaker John Hughes.[6] Daniel is currently on tour with his fellow band mates until January 2015.[7]
