George Bedford Daniel was born on March 23, 1990 (age 25) in Brussels, Belgium.[1] He is the drummer/back up vocalist and also a songwriter and producer for the indie rock band The 1975.[2] He met his fellow band mates Matty Healy, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald at Wilmslow High School near Manchester, England. In 2002, Healy (originally set to be the band's drummer) approached Daniel to ask him to be the final member of the band, which sealed the final line-up after a former band member left. This lead to Healy becoming lead vocalist and Daniel becoming the band's permanent drummer. They have performed under the names Talk House, The Slowdown, Bigsleep, and Drive Like I Do prior to deciding on their current name.[3] In 2012, they released their first EP Facedown on the record label Dirty Hits.[4] In 2013, they released their self titled album The 1975.[5] The band's main inspirations for their music include their own life experiences and films by filmmaker John Hughes.[6] Daniel is currently on tour with his fellow band mates until January of 2015.[7]
