Request to proofread article

[edit]

Hi, you previously gave me some advice regarding a Wikipedia page that I had submitted, which had been removed for copyright infringement. I have now redone this page and referenced every sentence and fixed my tone to be more neutral. You had suggested that I can send this page to you to proofread before submitting it and to reduce the chances of my contribution being undone. This is the link to the page: Draft:Adam Elshaug. I have also declared the conflict of interest and alternative account. Let me know what you think and whether I need to make any more changes before submitting this draft for review. Red Tiger 5 (talk) 23:56, 16 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Red Tiger 5 I made these changes, removing external links in the text and refs for publications mainly. I'll look at the content later, but two obvious issues are that LinkedIn is not acceptable as a reference, and your publications in the list need formatting as such, I've done the first one for you. Red Tiger 5 I've made these further changes, mostly removing inappropriate sources like LinkedIn and his own papers which are obviously not independent third-party sources. Either find proper sources or remove the text Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:16, 17 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi [[User:Jimfbleak|Jimfbleak], thanks for your message about my draft. It's actually my first full article on wikipedia. I couldn't save it as a draft so I just submitted it. I was intending to carry on editing it over the next week or so. I would appreciate any help I can get to get it up to wikipedia standards. One Angry Penguin (talk) 13:52, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

User

[edit]

Hi, I noticed you blocked a user, User:Samuelrclaesson, a few days ago for sockpuppetry. About a day after you blocked, a new account, JohnnyPearSeed1 was created, and started working on mostly the same articles - Laura Wagner, Arthur Sheehan Jr., Edward Sheehan (minister), and Samuel Claeson. They made tweaks to several of these article titles in an attempt to circumvent deletion/draftification. Do you think you could block on this evidence alone, or should I make a sockpuppet report? Because I will admit I'm not really sure how to go about that. AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 16:08, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AllTheUsernamesAreInUse, thanks. Several the same as the previous account, can't be coincidence, blocked as sock Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:16, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
May not be noteworthy but also the weird ominous vaguely threatening response they left on their talk page under the section "Speedy deletion nomination of Samuel Claeson"...lol. Maybe their planning some vandalism or something? AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 16:23, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well now they said they'll repost the article in 4 days. AllTheUsernamesAreInUse (talk) 16:24, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
AllTheUsernamesAreInUse, I've removed talk page access, and if necessary I can protect those pages, but for now I'll leave them so we can see what happens Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:58, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Kick Sauber C44

[edit]

Hi Jimfbleak. Could you please undelete Kick Sauber C44 (and the redirect Sauber C44)? Rather than our article being a WP:COPYVIO of https://allglobal.net/info/Kick-Sauber-C44, I'm pretty confident allglobal.net/info is a mirror of Wikipedia. Consider:

which are extracts from our Williams FW46, Mercedes W15 and RB VCARB 01 articles, using Wikipedia's standard format. I also notice that https://allglobal.net/info/Kick-Sauber-C44 no longer exists, which is almost certainly due to the fact that our article has been deleted, further reinforcing the notion that allglobal.net is a copy of Wikipedia, rather than the other way around. Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 22:30, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

DH85868993, I think you're right, restored now, cheers Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:00, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Nga Lee (Sally) Ng and getting a reviewer's attention

[edit]

I get alerted to Afc submissions in my areas of interest, came across Draft:Nga Lee (Sally) Ng, and worked on improving it. The subject appears notable to me as she meets seven of the eight WP:NACADEMIC criteria. I only noticed today that the original article creator has only created pages for Georgia Tech professors and saw you posted a COI message on the their User Talk page. Will Draft:Nga Lee (Sally) Ng be reviewed again in light of the potential conflict of interest? In general, is there a place where one can raise questions about getting a reviewer's attention once a page is improved? I've noticed that most Afc pages eventually get attention and responded to (although not always), and I don't have any insight into how this process works or how to try to get a reviewer's attention other than adding appropriate WikiProject tags to Talk pages. Thanks, Nnev66 (talk) 16:35, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nnev66, I'll have a look in the morning Jimfbleak - talk to me? 18:37, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
  • Because of your COI, you are right not to move the draft yourself. I'm a chemistry graduate myself. I've added a couple of cats, you might want to add more. I think that the article relies possibly a little too much on interviews with her and her own pages, but she's clearly notable, so I've moved it to mainspace Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:12, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
