If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.
Technical requests[edit]
Uncontroversial technical requests[edit]
- Tromsø → Tromsø Municipality (currently a redirect back to Tromsø) (move · discuss) – use standardized naming for municipalities in Norway - disambiguate from other places with the same name Jay1279 (talk) 18:15, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- Senja (municipality) (currently a redirect to Senja Municipality) → Senja Municipality (move · discuss) – use standardized naming for municipalities in Norway Jay1279 (talk) 19:54, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- Victoria_Lynn → Victoria Lynn Carroll (move · discuss) – Victoria is married and has changed her professional title. The change has been made on her IMDB and personal web pages: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3055998/, https://www.voices.com/profile/victorialynncarroll. Thanks! HellenicMagesty (talk) 22:24, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- BULOG → Bulog (currently a redirect back to BULOG) (move · discuss) – While all-caps name "BULOG" is used at its official website, almost all reliable sources didn't use all-caps variant, just as usual wordmark "Bulog", like this one from Kontan. This is necessary after Bulog changed its logo in May this year. 103.111.100.82 (talk) 03:01, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
- Joondalup line → Yanchep line (move · discuss) – The line has been renamed the Yanchep line upon the opening of an extension to Yanchep on 14 July 2024. Steelkamp (talk) 04:36, 14 July 2024 (UTC)
Requests to revert undiscussed moves[edit]
Contested technical requests[edit]
- Sharda University → Sharda University, Greater Noida (move · discuss) – a new university by same name is opened in Agra, so remove the confusion by adding location in the name. Third party refrance for establishment of a university with same name at Agra - https://lntedutech.com/newsroom/collegeconnect/lnt-edutech-partners-with-sharda-university-agra-for-integrated-engineering-programs/ & https://facultytick.com/2024/06/10/sharda-university-agra-invited-applications-from-eligible-candidates-for-the-following-post-of-teaching-faculty-recruitment/ Note - Both universities are by same management, but different entities. 14.139.183.119 (talk) 20:51, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- This can likely wait until the university at Agra is notable enough for its own article. --Ahecht (TALK

- Bhāskara II → Bhaskara II (currently a redirect back to Bhāskara II) (move) – WP:COMMONNAME in English. SKAG123 (talk) 19:59, 12 July 2024 (UTC)
- This seems unhelpful. The spelling "Bhāskara" is common (maybe dominant) in academic sources, and spelling names with correct diacritics and including a redirect from an easier to type variant doesn't hurt anyone. –jacobolus (t) 02:46, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- T'Boli, South Cotabato → Tboli, South Cotabato (move · discuss) – There is no apostrophe in Tboli as per Presidential Decree No. 407 dated March 5, 1974 on CREATING THE MUNICIPALITY OF TBOLI IN THE PROVINCE OF SOUTH COTABATO Lexi.acosta (talk) 04:22, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Lexi.acosta Sources use both names so you'll have to start a requested move discussion. You can do this by clicking "discuss" next to the page link above. C F A 💬 16:19, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- Lady Henry Somerset → Lady Isabella Somerset (currently a redirect back to Lady Henry Somerset) (move · discuss) – The move was proposed in 2017 because this person's official style was "Lady Isabella Somerset" from 1878, but it was not performed. saebou (talk) 23:40, 13 July 2024 (UTC)
- @さえぼー: The current name seems much more common than the proposed name. See Google Ngrams. If you nonetheless believe the proposed title would be consistent with title policy, you'll need to open a requested-move discussion by pressing "discuss" on your request.
