Rollback

User:Satricious

I would like rollback rights to make it easier for me to revert multiple vandalized edits done by a single user. Prior to this I reverted manually which was pretty time consuming, but I recently tried out a few tools (Twinkle and RW), and while I do like them, they do take a while to load up and I'd much prefer to get things done in a single click.

I would be using this feature to revert clear vandalism (eg. spam, advertising, disruptive). If it's subtle or unintentional (eg. good faith edits) I would probably resort to leaving a handwritten message so as to not confuse the user.

I would also be interested in exploring other tools that require rollback rights to use. (such as Huggle)

TLDR: I patrol new recent changes and doublecheck. Want rollback to make reverting obvious vandalism easier. Also looking to explore Huggle. Satricious (talk) 06:54, 11 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I reviewed your recent contributions, and noticed that you're not always warning editors when you revert their edits (e.g. 1, 2, 3, 4). Could you please comment on that? -FASTILY 02:09, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Fastily: Regarding the first one, I should have placed a {{uw-vandalism2}} (or level 1) on their user page looking back at it. In the moment though I was a bit tired and under the impression that the person who did the edit would surely know it would get reverted so I didn't think to warn them. Second one I could have done better too. Fourth one was pretty much decision fatigue (appears they did not know they were editing within a template, I tried looking for an appropriate message to leave on their talk page but couldn't find one so I just gave up).
Situations like the first two don't commonly occur, I know how I would deal with them now but I must have slipped up somehow.
But yeah I'll be sure to warn others when I can, and if I don't know how I could warn them, I would simply not to revert them to begin with and let another person deal with it. Satricious (talk) 04:21, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for confirming. Admins use warnings to track/block disruptive users, so it's very important to leave them for every revert you make.  Done -FASTILY 22:53, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not glad to be here. To fighting against vandalism on the SWViewer, there is need to have a rollback right on any project. I was blocked from my home wiki, trwiki, recently and for this reason, my rollback and pending changes reviewer request here were not successful. --Victor Trevor (talk) 11:44, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Automated comment This user has had 1 request for rollback declined in the past 90 days ([1]). MusikBot talk 11:50, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Nothing has changed since I declined your previous request. You're still blocked at your home wiki. -FASTILY 02:09, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am Wikipedia Contributer from Nepal. I made 180+ main space edits. I write article about Nepali Lagend/famous people, Nepali Calture, and others. So, I would like to requiest rollback rights to make it easier for me to edit multiple vandalized edits done by a user. Thanks for reading Endrabcwizart (talk) 14:26, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Automated comment This user has 64 edits in the mainspace. MusikBot talk 14:30, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
how can I See my mainspace edits Endrabcwizart (talk) 09:59, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Endrabcwizart: you can check your edit count here. 180+ is the number of your total edits, including user pages, talk pages, etc. Typically, only mainspace edits are counted when considering others for advanced permissions. Thanks. I get my answer . Endrabcwizart (talk) 14:23, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: This user has no anti vandalism work. @Endrabcwizart Please spend some time reverting vandalism, and then you are welcome to request for the permission here again. You may user WP:Twinkle and WP:Redwarn to revert vandalism. Also you can watch out for vandalism using Special:RecentChanges. Thanks and regards.  Not done. Please see the notice at the top of this page. With only 64 edits to the mainspace, I don't think you have sufficient editing experience yet. Take a moment to check out what counter-vandalism is at WP:CVU, and if you decide you'd like to get involved, you can enroll at the Counter Vandalism Academy to learn more. Lack of edits reverting vandalism and fairly recent warnings also don't help.--Slon02 (talk) 22:38, 12 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to request rollback permissions to help me with anti-vandalism tasks. Sometimes I find myself having to revert multiple edits quickly and rollback will be a useful tool for me. In addition, I am currently participating in the CVUA. --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page03:25, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Fastily: Sure. The first edit is related to an (at that time) unconfirmed sports transaction. At that time, I couldn't find the appropriate warning to give (which in this case should have been a uw-sportstrans), and I quickly moved on to another edit. The remaining three are caused by me closing a tab too early while the RedWarn tool is in the middle of warning a user. In the future, I will make sure that I warn users appropriately. --*Fehufangą✉ Talk page23:43, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I usually patrol pages and check if there is vandalism, reverting vandalism sometimes easy when the vandal edits are 1 or 2, but it becomes very hard and take too much time to revert vandalism one by one when there is too much edits, with rollback feature I can revert the vandalism easily.
