Visa-free entry for foreign tourists at Beijing ports surges over 10 times year-on-year in first half

According to the Beijing General Station of Exit and Entry Frontier Inspection, in the first half of this year, the number of persons entering and leaving Beijing ports was nearly 8.3 million, a year-on-year increase of 1.85 times. During the first half of the year, a total of 307,000 visa-free entries for foreign tourists were processed at Beijing ports, and 144-hour visa-free transit permits were issued to 33,700 eligible inbound foreign tourists, with year-on-year increases of 10.12 times and 7.24 times, respectively. In terms of the entry and exit of mainland residents, in the first half of the year, more than 5.74 million mainland residents chose to enter and leave via Beijing ports, about 2.7 times that of the same period last year, accounting for nearly 70% of the total number of people entering and leaving the port, and forming the main force of passenger flow at the port.
