On this day in 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the moon. Aluminium was used significantly in the spacecraft, helping to lighten its load, and that of the Saturn V rocket that propelled it into space. Now, the next man and first woman will go to the moon as part of the Artemis missions and aluminium again plays a prominent role. This evening, Constellium presented a donation of 50,000 Swiss francs to the Firefighters of Sierre, Switzerland, who welcomed our team for a small reception. We are deeply grateful for the incredible cooperation and support by the Sierre firefighters during the recent floods in the Valais region. The brigade lost much of their equipment and material during the second flood and we are honored to support the acquisition and restoration of essential rescue equipment. The donation was accepted by Lucien Cottier, Fire Commander and Head of Civil Security of Sierre, pictured with paul robillard, Valais Plant Director for Aerospace & Transportation (left), and Philippe Hoffmann, President of our Aerospace & Transportation business unit. The reception was also attended by Eddy Beney, Vice President of Sierre, and Christophe Crettaz, Fire Commander of Constellium Valais SAS. We are thrilled to announce the successful industrial-scale production of an aluminium slab using hydrogen combustion at our C-TEC R&D center! This is the first time worldwide that hydrogen is being used to cast a 12-ton aluminium slab, and a milestone to demonstrate that hydrogen can be a substitute for natural gas for industrial applications. This slab is now being sent to our Neuf-Brisach facility where it will be used to manufacture value-added aluminium automotive solutions, including for the electric vehicle market. We continue to pave the way towards a sustainable and circular economy! #Sustainability #Decarbonization #Hydrogen 📸 Franck Ardito More information here: https://ow.ly/GKJ350SBhfi

Thank you to the 128 employees and families from our Issoire plant who took part in the local "Running for a Child" event with Kiwanis International this past weekend! 🏃♂️🏃♀️ Since the event began six years ago, Constellium and its employees have supported the local Kiwanis chapter and its efforts to help disadvantaged children. It's one of many programs the generous Issoire team supports in their community. #ConstelliumCARES #community

Last weekend, the Valais region of Switzerland was hit hard by extremely heavy rainfall, causing flooding as the Rhône River overflowed its banks. Our Sierre and Chippis plants were affected by this natural disaster and had to stop production. We are very glad to report that all our employees are safe. It is still too early to assess the extent of the damage, or to tell when production will restart, but our teams are mobilized with the great support of local and federal authorities and are already working on cleaning up the site. Our priority is to bring both sites back to operation in a safe, organized, and efficient manner, as early as possible. We would like to thank our Valais teams and the first responders for their incredible work to limit the damage and ensure the safety of our employees and the community.
