"Why, you ask? Well, for a good cause, of course 🎗️ Kasper Dixen and Lars-Bo Kyndesen from Louis Nielsen (Specsavers' brand name in Denmark) are feeling the burn. They've tackled the toughest 2024 Tour de France mountains 🚵♀️ By day, Kasper is an Optical Assistant, and Lars-Bo is a Store Environment Manager. But for a good cause, they've turned into fundraising heroes, gathering 50,000 DKK with the support of local Louis Nielsen stores 🤲 They put their cycling skills to the test in France with Cykelnerven / The Multiple Sclerosis Society's cycling team. "Doing something for others is a significant part of our culture. Health, especially eye health, is a top priority for us. So, raising and donating 50,000 DKK to Multiple Sclerosis is awesome," says Lars-Bo ❤️ The money raised will go towards vital research in this area📑 It's Lars-Bo's fifth and Kasper's third Tour de Force. At Specsavers, we're here to help 💚 #ThisIsSpecsavers #ThisIsLouisNielsen #Fundraising #MultipleSclerosis #Cykelnerven #CyclingForACause #Specsavers

They say luck comes in threes and what a week we’ve had in the world of Best Workplaces as we received not one, not two, but three listings 🎉 Our success in the Great Place to Work country awards have been added to this week with both Hong Kong and the Netherlands making their debuts in the rankings. Specsavers in Hong Kong made it into the Best Workplaces along with 18 other businesses, and the Netherlands made it onto the list at No.3 🙌 Closer to home, we've also earned a spot in the Best Workplaces for Wellbeing in the UK, coming in at No.38! These awards recognise supporting employee wellbeing is more than just a package or perks. It’s much broader than that and is about how our focus on wellbeing is intertwined into the fabric of Specsavers culture 💚 #GPTW #GreatPlaceToWork #BestWorkplace

💚🤍Glaucoma awareness week at Specsavers Fairfield park Bedford 💚🤍 Specsavers Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that damage the optic nerve. It often affects both eyes, usually to varying degrees. If glaucoma is left undetected, it can slowly steal your sight. You could lose up to 40% of your vision without even knowing. Did you know chronic glaucoma affects up to 2 in every 100 people over the age of 40? This week we have been raising awareness of glaucoma and how it can affect the vision in our store! As most cases of glaucoma won’t have any symptoms, one of the best ways to detect glaucoma is during a routine eye test – that’s why it’s so important to have one regularly. We’ve been raising awareness of the importance of having regular eye exams every 2 years The OCT has been explained to every patient that has had an eye exam booked in and raising awareness of the importance of having the scan done. Please help us raise awareness and continue to get patients booked in for their eye exams! 💚🤍 Dharshana Chauhan Elizabeth Stewart Rakesh Nanda Matt Stewart Alexa Orme Usman Uppal Chris Pateman Riah Henley Alexander Cummings BSc (Hons) FBDO Kayleigh Townsend Michael Chima

Have you told your patients that glaucoma runs in families?👨👧 If you have a close relative with glaucoma, your are four times more likely to develop the disease. That's why this #GlaucomaAwarenessWeek, we're encouraging every family to talk about glaucoma. If everyone understands their own family eye health history, then people at increased risk can be empowered to prioritise regular eye tests every two years.
