Embracing the power of diversity and inclusion, Mandarin Oriental proudly supported and celebrated LGBTQIA+ communities throughout June. We showcased our solidarity by backing colleague-organised Pride festivities adorned with rainbow-themed food and beverage offerings created by the Group's culinary innovators. Our hotels also did amazing work partnering with LGBTQIA+ charities, and LGBTQIA+-friendly bars and theatre productions to create unique Pride experiences. In the corporate offices, we also hosted several events to raise awareness and celebrate Pride, including the hosting of external speakers to discuss lived experiences and how to improve colleague and guest experiences. We are delighted to announce that Duarte Correia will assume the role of General Manager of one of our most exciting upcoming openings, Mandarin Oriental, Mallorca. Duarte joined the Group in 2018 as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Canouan before transferring to Prague as General Manager in 2022. Since then, he has completed an EMBA in Global Hospitality Management from Les Roches and has been instrumental in repositioning Mandarin Oriental, Prague as a luxury urban hideaway, leading the team from strength to strength. The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong which has been delivering exceptional hospitality in the heart of Hong Kong’s Central district since 2005, is partaking in LANDMARK’s transformative project ‘Tomorrow’s CENTRAL’. Overseen by acclaimed designer Joyce Wang, the hotel is poised to enhance its luxury offering, setting a new benchmark for ultra-luxury living in the heart of Hong Kong. Due to begin in November 2024, the refurbishment will see the introduction of two new dining and bar concepts, including a stunning alfresco terrace, and the artful elevation of guestrooms, suites and wellness spaces. Connie Wong, a seasoned veteran with Mandarin Oriental since 2004, has been promoted to Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Guangzhou. Her unwavering commitment and impactful contributions have been instrumental to the success of our Hong Kong flagship and The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. Marcel Kofler has been appointed Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental Palace, Luzern. Transferring from our hotel in Riyadh, where he has worked as Director of Operations for the past 3 years, Marcel's international experience and passion for excellence will elevate the guest experience at this stunning Swiss property. Lastly, Dominik Hengge, a Forever Fan of Mandarin Oriental, joins us as Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Jakarta. His remarkable journey from Front Desk Agent to this leadership role is a true testament to the growth opportunities within the Group. Every year, Mandarin Oriental opens the doors of our Spas, offering wellness activities designed to encourage guests and colleagues to incorporate more wellness into their daily lives.
