We learnt some design secrets of Apple award-winning companies Shapr3D & Craft Docs. In this roundtable discussion, Zoltan Balogh and Anna Barta shared how they joined each company, and gave advice on designing loveable apps. They told us to channel our curiosity even off-the-clock. Finding a product that we love and learning the logic behind its design can be a great source of inspiration. We were also discussing product design’s part in shaping the future. We as designers should be business-savvy. Our skills are incredibly versatile, ranging  from research to writing and UI, and we need to know how to use these to change entire industries for the better. Of course, all memorable results are achieved as a team. Engineers and developers should be every designer’s best friends. Zoltán and Anna shared how learning a bit about backend enabled them to think of game-changing solutions. This event was a great reminder that the best way to learn is to surround ourselves with smart people. That's why we appreciate our lively UX community here, in the heart of Europe. 💚

For 50% of internet users, the #design of a digital product shapes their view of a brand. So, should you just get it over and done with? 🤔 Well... when people DIY redesigns in-house, they tend to imagine it as a simple flow, so they cut corners and rush the process. Then they end up having to redo it all over again within a quarter. On the other hand, a detailed, data-focused redesign that reflects your business goals and improves #userexperience will always have more steps and hidden efforts involved. A professional #redesign goes well beyond appearance, including restructuring content, layout, color scheme, navigation, optimizing site speed, ensuring responsiveness, and, of course, improving user experience. A little patience now can save a lot of headaches later. 💆

It’s #Config time, and we’re here to share our takes on Figma’s keynote announcements. 😍 The good:  - We’re loving Figma slides, which is packed with beautiful features, like the tone adjustment modal. - We can finally bypass auto layout with control. Other common requests, however, were ignored: it’s still not possible to edit text in bulk or lock the aspect ratio of images. We think that jumping on the AI-bandwagon divided Figma’s focus. Speaking of which… 🙃 The bad: - The AI tools aren’t quite there yet. Speeding up manual tasks like inserting placeholder copies is super useful, but the critical parts of the job should still be done by humans. At UX studio, we won’t be using the “create design” button: AI is not yet great at meeting user goals and keeping constraints in mind, or thinking for itself. - The UI update felt a bit unnecessary. While simplifying Figma is a common request, we’re not sure that the unfamiliar icons and floating sidebars will help. (Also, why was it presented in light mode?) 😬 The ugly: - The dev mode was kind of a letdown. There are simply not enough status indicators: besides “ready for development,” there should be stuff like “work in progress” or “code needs update.” The code integration feature is cool though. Thanks to Janka Holicska and Laura Sima for their insights! Do you agree with us about #config24? Sound off in the comments!

Since the 12th century, Margaret Island has been a go-to place for Budapest folks. It was once home to nuns and rabbits, and the peaceful atmosphere is still felt today. 😌🐇 This is where we met for a team-building picnic. It was boiling hot, so we took shelter in the shade of old trees and enjoyed the balmy breeze coming from the Danube. We played games, chatted, and snacked. It’s a cliché that every great company is like a family, but once you blow bubbles with a coworker, it’s impossible not to see them as a sibling. 👩👩👧👦 #weareuxstudio #uxstudioteam
