Hindu Rao Hospital MS suspended over irregularities found during mayor’s surprise visit

Grave financial and infrastructural gaps were identified during the visit — dark corners and corridors, lack of basic hygiene, piles of garbage, dark and dirty toilets among others. Following this, the mayor suspended the medical superintendent on the spot.

“Strict action will be taken against the officers who do not discharge their responsibilities, any kind of negligence in health services will not be tolerated. The health facilities of MCD will be made world class. It will ensure that the people of Delhi get better health facilities in MCD hospitals 24 hours a day,” Oberoi said.

She said that complaints were pouring in against Hindu Rao Hospital from the patients, following which a surprise inspection was conducted. Surprise inspection of other hospitals will also be conducted soon.
