Boxing teacher sexually assaults 12-year-old girl for four months in Mumbai’s Byculla, arrested

According to police, the accused sexually assaulted the girl on multiple occassions between February and June this year. “He first asked the minor for sexual favours. When she refused, he forcefully sexually assaulted her,” said a police officer.

Recently, the girl, who did not disclose the incident to anyone, told her mother about the ordeal she has been going through. The mother approached the police on Monday.

The girl told the police that the accused also sexually assaulted her at a studio where he would take his students to teach them boxing.

“On the girl’s compaint, we arrested the accused on Monday and produced him before a court that sent him to police custody up till July 5,” said a police officer from the Byculla police station.

The accused has been booked under Sections 376, 376(2)(n), 354 of the IPC and Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Police are also checking if the accused targeted other girls whom he taught kick-boxing.
