SOUTHERN Army Commander Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth on Monday highlighted the importance of culture of innovation, creativity and also that of a good work-life balance in his first address to all officers of the Southern Command.
Lt Gen Seth took over as the 51st General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Pune-headquartered Southern Command on July 1. Before taking over as the Southern Army Commander, he commanded South Western Command from November 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024.
A post on X by the Southern Command on Monday read, “Lt Gen Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, General Officer Commanding- in-Chief, Southern Command, addressed all officers of the Southern Army. Army Commander underscored the importance of ensuring operational readiness, rigorous and realistic training and promoting a culture of innovation, creativity and new ideas to enhance combat effectiveness. He exhorted commanders to relentlessly pursue technical absorption with an aim to enhance operational efficiency through training, seamless integration and assimilation of new generation equipment and technology to achieve our mission.”
The post further said, “He emphasised on the importance of nurturing an enabling organisational climate, fostering a culture of good work-life balance to achieve good health, morale and happiness as collectively we pursue greater heights.”
An alumnus of National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, Lt Gen Seth was commissioned into 2nd Lancers in December 1986. He has commanded Skinner’s Horse, 98 Armoured Brigade, Counter Insurgency Uniform Force, 21 Corps and the Delhi Area. His staff appointments include Brigade Major of an Independent Armoured Brigade, Assistant Military Secretary at Military Secretary’s Branch, Brigadier General Staff (Operations) of HQ South Western Command, Deputy Director General Perspective Planning (Plans) and Additional Director General, Weapons and Equipment.
