Kalki 2898 AD Worldwide Box Office Collection: Bulldozing all records in sight, Prabhas and Deepika Padukone-starrer Kalki 2898 AD is marching forward and has already emerged as the highest-grossing Indian film of this year. Now, the epic science fiction film has crossed another milestone and entered the Rs 900 crore (GBOC) club, the film’s team announced on Monday, making it only the 10th Indian movie to surpass this mark.

If Kalki, also starring Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan in key roles, manages to maintain the same momentum, the movie is likely to cross the lifetime collection of Advait Chandan’s Aamir Khan-starrer Secret Superstar (Rs 912.75 crore) and Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Animal (Rs 915 crore) in a day or two, according to figures released by industry tracker Sacnilk.

Surpassing his own Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire (Rs 178.7 crore), Prabhas scripted history yet again as his very next film recorded a global opening of Rs 191.5 crore, as per producers Vyjayanthi Movies. The only two movies above it now are Prabhas’ own Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and SS Rajamouli’s NT Rama Rao Jr and Ram Charan-starrer RRR.

2) Kalki is 10th Indian film to cross Rs 900 crore GBOC mark

Ever since the advent of Indian cinema, only 10 movies have so far grossed over Rs 900 crore at the global box office and Kalki 2898 AD is the latest addition to this elite club. Other movies ahead of it are (from highest-grosser to lowest) Dangal, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, RRR, KGF: Chapter 2, Jawan, Pathaan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Animal and Secret Superstar.

3) Kalki 2898 AD is the fastest Indian film to gross $14 million North America

The Nag Ashwin directorial became the the fastest Indian movie to gross $14 million in North America on July 5, Times of India reported. Currently, the top two positions have been occupied by Baahubali 2 ($22 million) and Jawan ($17.45 million), the report stated. According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, the film has so far grossed $16 million in the region.

4) Kalki has booked the highest opening weekend collection

Dethroning director Atlee’s Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan (Rs 520.79 crore), Kalki emerged as the movie with the highest opening weekend collection of Rs 555 crore worldwide.

5) Kalki is the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024

As a year that has been witnessing poor performances by almost all industries, except Malayalam, the highest grossing Indian film of 2024 till the release of Kalki had been Fighter (Rs 358.83 crore), starring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead roles. Now, Kalki has surpassed Fighter by a huge margin, giving Indian theatres a respite.

6) Kalki is the highest grossing Telugu film in Canada

Earlier this month, Kalki had emerged as the highest grossing Telugu film in Canada. Confirmed this, trade analyst Ramesh Bala wrote, “When the Battle Rages the rampage shows no mercy..💥💥 Likewise, the Big Man #Prabhas slays it every time 😎 #Kalki2898AD is now the All Time Highest Grossing Telugu Film in Canada ( Reported Telugu Movies ) ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥.”

7) Kalki is the highest grossing Indian film in Germany

Kalki became the highest grossing Indian film in Germany, achieving a whopping first weekend collection of €251,287, surpassing films like RRR, Saaho, Brahmastra and KGF2.

8) One of the top five films with highest opening weekend gross in North America

During its opening weekend, the Indian film ranked in the top five at the North American box office. It followed hits Inside Out 2 and Bad Boys: Ride or Die, as well as new releases A Quiet Place: Day One and Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1, according to Screen Rant.
