Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma‘s love story continues to take the world by charm. Whether it is Virat blowing flying kisses to Anushka in-between matches; the actor cheering for the former Indian Men’s cricket captain, or him taking out a few moments to celebrate a win with Anushka and their children on video calls, they surely set massive couple goals! But Anushka‘s influence on Virat’s life goes beyond what is visible to the public, according to long-time friend and cricketer Ishant Sharma. “After Anushka’s arrival, Virat has become calmer in life. We talk a lot about god and spirituality. He is a very chill person otherwise. But it is not easy for him to be casual with everyone,” the bowler told Ranveer Allahabadia.

How can partners be a source of calm in each other’s lives?

Dr Santosh Bangar, senior consultant, and psychiatrist, Gleneagles Hospitals Parel Mumbai said that often relationships come with great responsibilities and problems like disagreements, arguments, differences in opinions, unrealistic expectations, and trust issues. “This can take a toll on a couple’s physical and psychological health, leading to feelings of frustration, agitation, anger, sadness, guilt, and irritation,” said Dr Bangar.

This is where being calm and composed helps. “Being assured that someone is by your side through ups and downs can lead to a sense of peace and stability,” added Dr Bangar.

Maintaining open and honest communication can help overcome these shortcomings of a relationship. According to Dr Bangar, sharing or expressing thoughts, feelings, and concerns with your partner can significantly lighten up your mental load and reduce stress. “This approach could provide emotional support and stability in the relationship resulting in a more grounded state of mind. During tough times of stress or anxiety, a partner can exercise calmness and try being patient until the situation cools down to avoid further problems,” Dr Bangar told indianexpress.com.

Being empathic, and showing comfort and understanding can help induce calmness in life. Dr Bangar said that factors like communication, mutual respect, and creating a safe space can help create deep connections. “Seek professional advice from experts to discuss concerns related to relationship issues. Their expert guidance can help you address the root cause of the problem leading to a stable and healthy relationship,” said Dr Bangar.
