Mumbai woman buys gold chain worth Rs 2.5 lakh for pet dog, netizens react to viral video

According to the Hindustan Times, Saldanha resides in the Chembur area in Mumbai, and the gold chain she bought weighs 35 grams. “Celebrating the profound and beautiful companionship between humans and animal,” the jewellery store wrote on Instagram.

Shared two weeks ago, the video is winning hearts on social media as pet lovers hailed Saldanha for her gesture. On June 30, a stray dog won hearts as he saved a 32-year-old woman from a man who attempted to rape her. According to reports, the incident happened around 1:30 am at Tungareshwar Gully in Vasai. The alleged accused, who is nearly seven-feet tall, approached the woman from behind, pushed her to the ground and threatened to rape her. A stray dog nearby began barking at the accused following which the woman successfully escaped.
