Hverdagsmennesker
Gisle Harr (f. 1966) er kjent for sine figurative skulpturer, tegninger og iscenesatte tablåer med mennesker i hverdagslige handlinger. Skulpturene er gjerne små og utført i gips, epoxy, tre eller bronse og malt i realistiske farger. Skulpturene kan ha referanser til kunstnerens liv, til populærkulturen eller historien. Karakteristisk er den varme humoren og omsorgen til menneskene som portretteres, og til historiene som fortelles. Det kan være en rengjørings ansatt med vasketralla si, ei jente med skolesekk eller en cowboy med gitar. På utstillinga i Kunstbanken vil Harr vise skulpturer, skisser og modeller utført de siste fem årene, blant annet i forbindelse med offentlige kunstprosjekter.

Gisle Harr er utdannet ved Statens kunstakademi i Oslo, Kunstakademiet i Budapest og Oslo tegne- og maleskole. Han er bosatt i Oslo.

Everyday people
Gisle Harr (b. 1966) is known for his figurative sculptures, drawings and staged tableaux of people going about their everyday activities. The sculptures are typically small and made from plaster, epoxy, wood or bronze and painted in realistic colours. They may allude to the artist’s life, popular culture or history, characteristically narrated with humour and consideration for the people portrayed and the stories told whether it be a janitor with a cleaning cart, a girl with a school backpack or a cowboy with a guitar. At the exhibition in Kunstbanken, Harr will display sculptures, sketches and models made in the last five years, some of which created in connection with public space art projects.

Gisle Harr is a graduate of the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, the Hungarian Academy
of Arts in Budapest and Oslo Drawing and Painting school. He lives in Oslo.
