Visually gorgeous and a decent enough action flick. Wish there was more horror.
Michael Fassbender is great and all, but Ridley pls I don’t care about ANY of your philosophizing. Just give me the alien.

Alien Resurrection 1997
Better than 3, but only marginally. The set and production design are cool. Not much else is going on. Can’t blame Sigourney for getting another paycheck, and she’s pretty good in this, even if her dialog and performance is pretty sparse. I think it works with the animalistic nature she’s supposed to have somehow gotten from the alien.

A staggering piece of work. The only complaint I have is the length and scope, and even then, I also feel that it wouldn’t work nearly as well if it was shorter and more defined. It’s the perfect metaphor for American life. The numerous tangents and meandering plot, the interconnected nature between multiple seemingly unrelated groups of people, the self centeredness, the intersections between all our lives and politics even though nothing here except the rally is explicitly political.
