I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry 2007
a fascinating time capsule into the public perception of the gay marriage debate a mere 16 years ago. made it about half way, accidentally hit a button and closed it, and shrugged and said well thats probably fine

Bros 2022
god. i wanted to like this one, really i did, but even as a rom com it just... does not do it at all. some funny jokes completely buried in sheer condescension toward both the queer and straight audience. bobbys character made me want to tear my hair out! the self centeredness!

Elvis 2022
theres a moment where austin butler as elvis puts on a record of an elvis song- i cant remember which - and my partner, who was half-watching, asked me why on earth they did that. "oh well," i said generously, "it's diagetic, he's putting a record on in the scene, so it makes sense it isnt elvis' recording."
"that's kacey musgrave," they said.
