Open call for two Project Coordinators

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job title:                      Project Coordinator

Contract duration:     1 year with a possibility of extension

Starting date:             1.03.2024.

Job Summary:

As Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for:

Project Management:

  • Lead the implementation of assigned projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and objectives.
  • Develop and write the project concept notes and project proposals.
  • Develop and maintain project plans.
  • Track progress, identify and mitigate risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports to stakeholders.

Grant Management:

  • Manage project activities and prepare reports.
  • Secure funding from donors, foundations, and other sources.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.

Monitoring and Evaluation:

  • Monitor project progress and collect data on project activities and outcomes.
  • Analyze data to assess the effectiveness of interventions and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present monitoring and evaluation reports to stakeholders.

Advocacy and Research:

  • Conduct research on LGBTI issues.
  • Develop advocacy strategies to promote LGBTI rights and equality.
  • Prepare materials for campaigns and lobbying efforts, such as fact

sheets, briefing papers, press statements, and presentations.

  • Build relationships with policymakers, media representatives, and other stakeholders.

Communication:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans for projects, ensuring messaging resonates with diverse target audiences across various channels, including social networks and websites.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with colleagues, LGBTI organizations, and other stakeholders to achieve project goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and donors.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.

Travel:

  • Frequent travel to project countries in the Western Balkans and Turkey, as well as to other destinations.
  • Be prepared to work in challenging and sometimes unstable environments.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Stay up-to-date on current LGBTI issues in the region.
  • Represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and other events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Profile requirements:

Qualifications and experience:

  • At a minimum, a university degree in social sciences or humanities is required. If a university degree is in other sciences, or there is no university degree, relevant working experience will be considered;
  • Minimum three years of experience in project management – large-scale and EU-funded projects, preferably in the non-profit or development sector.
  • Experience in advocacy and/or communication work.
  • Strong understanding of LGBTI rights issues.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills in English.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant software.

Skills and aptitudes

  • Ability to work in diversified environments;
  • Ability to work in teams;
  • Proficient knowledge of spoken and written English language (international standard tests of English language knowledge such as CPE, CAE, IELTS, TOEFL apply, or substantial working/studying experience in an English-speaking environment);
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Strong skills in conflict resolution and mediation;
  • Strong dedication to the values of diversity, equality, human rights, feminism, tolerance, and non-­violence;
  • Ability to work under stressful and unpredictable conditions;
