Master of Science in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology

This interdisciplinary program is offered jointly by the Departments of Mathematical Sciences and Biological Sciences (see degree requirements).

Placement

Most of our Bioinformatics & Computational Biology MS graduates go on to work in industry and for research institutions. Additionally, some choose to continue in academia for further graduate studies. A sample of recent full-time job placements is provided below.

Financial Support

NSM McDermott MS Admission Fellowship is offered to support highly qualified MS students. This fellowship is awarded on a competitive basis at the time of admission. All applicants are automatically considered for this fellowship, and a separate application is not required. Nonresidents of the State of Texas who receive this fellowship are also eligible to be considered for a Competitive Scholarship Waiver. This waiver enables them to pay tuition at the resident rate, but its granting is not assured.
