Global bot status requests

Global bot status for Diego Grez Bot

Already flagged as a bot at an.wiki, ar.wiki, arz.wiki, ay.wiki, bat-smgwiki, be-x-oldwiki, bnwiki, bpywiki, cawikinews, cswiki, dawiki, enwikinews, enwiktionary, eowiki, fiwiki, frwikinews, frwiki, huwiki, ltwiki, mlwiki, mtwiki, nnwiki, plwikinews, ptwikinews, ptwiki, quwiki, ruwikinews, ruwiki, scowiki, srwikinews, srwiki, swwiki, tawikinews, vowiki, warwiki, mediawikiwiki, yowiki, zh-yuewiki and zhwiki. Global bot flag would be really useful. It has around 9000 edits in total. Thanks in advance. Diego Grez return fire 00:49, 6 August 2010 (UTC)

  •   Comment I want to note here that a wiki, which is covered by global bot flag, rejected a bot flag for his bot for lack of community trust (see here). I'm not sure if it is a good idea to grant a global flag here since a wiki already rejected a local flag. Itwiki also rejected the local flag (see here). I'm not sure if a global flag is really the best under this conditions. Regards, -Barras 21:42, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
  •   Comment Per barras' above comment, and I don't believe that a user should be running a global bot if he is blocked on a wiki as that can be viewed as a sock. Griffinofwales 21:53, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
  • I must echo Barras above with regards to the local wikis denial of the bot flag, it would be not good I think to approve a global flag if two wikis have determined locally that no flag should be issued. Thank you for listening. NonvocalScream 22:01, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
  • I feel that the "long term trusted users" part of the policy isn't met, as you have been blocked several times in the last 6 months. Trust is something that takes a long time to build, and can be lost in just one edit. More important for me: overriding local communities when you have specifically been denied local botflag is something I have a serious issue with (if the local communities opt out of global rights because someone isn't trusted enough to have them, we get problems with creating and managing global rights), and because of that I'd have to say   oppose. Global bot status for Darkicebot

Darkicebot is my bot that I use to make interwiki changes on many Wikipedias. He has a lot of bot flags, including ones on nearly all of the Wikipedias that have the strictest rules when it comes to granted bot flags. He has made over 490,000 edits so far. He has been a global bot twice before in the past, and both times, I voluntarily chose to give up his flag due to the fact that I was not going to be running him much any longer. Now, I've found that I could do a lot of good if I run him again, and so, I would like to ask for the global bot flag back because my bot hasn't had any problems in the past and because I want to start running him again, but I can't run him without first getting the global bot flag again because there are quite a few wikis that he edits where he doesn't have the bot flag because the global bot flag covered him on those Wikipedias. Therefore, I kindly request to regain his global bot flag again. Thanks, Razorflame 19:55, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Seems to check out. Wait until the 19th. --Daniel Mayer (mav) 02:50, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Ok, will do. Thanks, Razorflame 20:30, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Done - Week passed, no objections. Global bot flag regranted. --dferg ☎ talk 06:23, 20 August 2010 (UTC)

Invalidation of Global bot policy on kowikinews

User:DerHexer added kowikinews in list of Global bot wikis without asking to the community.
There is no relevant thread about Global bots in VP, and policy VP. Please remove the project from Global bot wikis. Thank you. – Kwj2772 (msg) 04:24, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

(minor refactor) Kylu 04:28, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
The same applies to frr.wiki. --Nemo 08:02, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Vote for frrwiki can be found at Wikipedia:Diskusjoon#Bot_policy. Still ongoning but result should be clear. Giving local botflags [1] without asking the community because they had no time to create a policy isn't a solution, too.
Adding frrwiki temporary to global bot for hiding at recent changes was requested be me after short discussion with most active members on frrwiki. Merlissimo 15:37, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I made a mistake. Kind regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 15:38, 22 August 2010 (UTC)
Removed frrwiki, kowikinews from the wikiset. Can be added later if the community agrees to do so. --dferg ☎ talk 10:21, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Sorry, I do not aggree for removing global wikiset for frr wiki. There is a consensus shown at the given link above. Xqt 22:14, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Global bot policy on frrwikipedia

Please add frrwiki to gloabl bot wikiset as permitted by local bot policy which is now approved by local community at frr:Wikipedia:Diskusjoon#Bot_policy. Merlissimo 21:32, 27 August 2010 (UTC)
Now yes - done.

I need flag for some test edits, so a temporary flag would be nice, after that I will provide local community for it.--Marmzok 21:05, 12 August 2010 (UTC)
Actually it should be done vice versa. you should make some edits that people can see them after that you may ask for bot flag , i know you are trusted user . we just need that to make sure that community even if it's small are aware of your request Mardetanha talk 11:53, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
Question: I was about to grant your flag , but are you sure about your bot name ? there is no such user Mardetanha talk 10:28, 15 August 2010 (UTC)
The bot's user name is maribot, and here you are its contributions.--Marmzok 10:50, 15 August 2010 (UTC)

Requesting Automatic approval (100 edits are done). BTW, I think I could qualify for bot flag in 3 more wikis. Would it be too greedy to post 3 requests at the same time? Should have I put all the requests here, or just ask for the global bot? Thank you, TaBaZzz 21:26, 25 August 2010 (UTC)
