This user have persistantly register as new user and presenting claims as fact, hoping that if it is repeated often enough, people will believe that it as a fact. Yosri 04:04, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Could you provide some evidence, and maybe a link to the other suspected sockpuppets? Tiptoety talk 04:07, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

Mr.Encyclopedist@th.wiki

Please check these account:

I think this is sockpuppet of Encyclopedist@th.wiki (Encyclopedist (contr · deleted · block · log · block log · CA · guc · checkuser · lwcheckuser)) was similar username and sign in a similar time. Thank you. --Ken-Z!   Talk 13:24, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

  Confirmed the identical IPs.--Jusjih 23:43, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

jonba00@eu.wiki

After losing a votation some related articles are being vandalized by a range of IPs. We have blocked some of them but maybe the range is used by user Jonba00, who proposed and lost in the votation. -Theklan 18:21, 8 December 2009 (UTC)

What page(s) are being vandalized?  — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 01:16, 13 December 2009 (UTC)

Imho not needed. Apparently the same users. CheckUser would not search out new aspects except their IP address. Decline? Kind regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:41, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
Blocked local range used only for socking attacks, hopefully deterring this behavior in the future. Kylu 16:49, 9 January 2010 (UTC)
I do know that all the attack is by same user, same style, same text content. Each attack consisted of 30-40 vandalism before it is detacted and painfully reverted, as the number of sysop in MS Wiki is smaller and not on-line 24/7 (refer to contributions & deleted contributions. Even IP address help as user is currently a student in UK and I'm not expecting any usefull/negligable contribution from those IP anyway. Each attack is betweeen 3 - 1 weeks time since it first started, except during long school/semester holiday. Yosri 02:47, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
I blocked the range that the new set of contributions is from, but there's a slight issue in that it's a completely different IP range. If this person keeps switching ranges, we have little choice but to keep adding rangeblocks. Unfortunately, in isp/proxy blocking versus isp/proxy hopping, it's a zero-sum game: Nobody wins, just one player quits first. Kylu 02:57, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
I do regret that he decided to become a vandal. If he contributes positively, he can be among top contributes as he is very persistent and hard working. Anyways, thanks for all who assist in blocking this user. :) Yosri 03:12, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely agreed. Kylu 03:19, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
Added more big, ugly, chunky blocks. This should hold 'em off for...oh, a day. Kylu 03:27, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

Grigol@mediawiki.org

I ask to check for abuse (open proxies or sockpuppetry) the following users:

Maybe exist other puppets in the other Wikimedia projects.

See also local request Meta:Requests for CheckUser information#MediaWiki Russian proposal supporters for reason explain. --Kaganer 15:54, 5 January 2010 (UTC)

Agree with this request. Reasons for check: similar style, Grigol and Dorkin Maxim have puppet's on Meta-wiki and here they blocked by admin. – Innv | d | s: 05:13, 8 January 2010 (UTC)
I'd decline because of   CheckUser is not for fishing. Kind regards, —DerHexer (Talk) 16:45, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Ervin C. on rowikiquote

User is requesting admin acces on rowikiquote after one day discussion. There are two voters with just one edit. He is also blocked on rowiki like one of the voters. If possible check for socket puppetery. Possible puppets:

  6. Esc.eliska (contr · deleted · block · log · block log · CA · guc · checkuser · lwcheckuser) (nlwiki)

This user was blocked on commons for uploading copyrighted images. He also used sock puppets for that. Now he cannot upload images to commons anymore he's going local. Also on the dutch wikipedia he is being blocked. Besides these blocks Esc.eliska is also blocked on sk.wp (SUL), Fredy.00 on cswiki, plwiki and skwiki (SUL), Alexei Grach on cswiki and skwiki (SUL). Al those blocks are (as far as I can see) related to the use of copyrighted material. Since this person is active on several wiki's (also those where he isn't blocked) I'd like to ask for a global check user. Silver Spoon Sokpop 09:35, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

I wholeheardedly support this request as nl-wiki admin. I asked fellow Dutchman Silver Spoon who is commons admin to look into it first after I blocked the accounts on nl-wiki - see here and he posted the request above. Additional information: he first when discovered to be large scale copy-vio uploading evaded this by placing the pics on Flickr and now when this has been discovered on commons he goes to local wiki versions to upload them and then gets them transferred back to commons that way. This is what I discovered he does on nl-wiki as well but by glancing at the crosswiki edits he goes everywhere now. So a global lock of the sockpuppets and a global checkuser to possibly pinpoint static accounts and more sockpuppets yet undiscovered and take measures as well is definitely needed to stop the problems I think. Thank you in advance for helping out. Kind regards, MoiraMoira 09:42, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Just a short note: These accounts have already been checkusered and confirmed as socks on Commons by Martin H.. The guy is also active as 77.48.153.172. As he stated on his userpage, he deliberately ignores the copyright laws. --Mercy 09:57, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanx for the additional info Mercy and the result of the commons checkuser. Hopefully he can be stopped globally since he now moves to all the corners of wikipedia where no local cu's can be done. MoiraMoira 10:00, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Well in that case I should just ask for a global block then? Silver Spoon Sokpop 09:59, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Indeed, but we do still need to know if more sockpuppets might be on the loose cross-wiki first I guess so a cross-wiki check is preferred now as well. MoiraMoira 10:00, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Looks like a crosswiki-check as already been requested on cu-l. Laaknor 10:01, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
Thanx for the notification - we all look forward to the outcome I think! MoiraMoira 10:14, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
At the Dutch Wikipedia I also found User:Zemanolog. I didn't find any other additional results there. --Erwin 11:20, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
No additional information (beyond Martin H's checkusering on Commons) was uncovered by the crosswiki discussion. —Pathoschild 21:31:13, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
