Request for global (un)block
85.227.153.176
Hi, 85.227.153.176 looks like global bot without user name and flag (see en:contribs, ru:contribs, cs:contribs etc.) I blocked it on cs wiki, please look at it. --Jagro 15:09, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- Hello, I tried to inform the potential bot-owner in #pywikipediabotconnect, and Mulitchill told me that this seems not to be a bot (because pywikipedia always adds a summary) but an user adding links manually. I would not block him, or please try to contact him on his talk.
- Best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 15:24, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think it's sv:User:Hrvatski based on ip and edits. Multichill 15:30, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
- I wrote him but he haven't replay and after block he starts with these edits again without any explanation, replay or protest against block. So I wrote him on sv Wiki ask him for summaries etc.; without replay too. It really looks very peculiarly... --Jagro 22:55, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

193.86.86.86
- Please unblock or shorten the block on 193.86.86.86, which was blocked by Zirland for two years on account of being an open proxy. Per discussion, only open proxies which are used abusively are to be blocked, and not for this long. While there is abuse, it doesn't seem to be recurrent, severe, or otherwise necessitating a two-year block on well over 700 wikis. If there is recent abuse, a short block may be in order. — Mike.lifeguard | @en.wb 19:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks Mike, Zirland shortened the block to one week softblock, if it needs to be prolonged after that period when the spambot returns we will see, best regards, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 20:28, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Global editinterface for Pmartin
- Global user: Pmartin (edits (alt) • CA • global groups • crossactivity • verify 2FA)
Hello, I am working on fixing the external search engines integration on different wikis. That feature is often broke due to either mediawiki updates or because of admin copy/pasting javascript from some other wikis (in most case, that just won't work as special page title are now localized, etc.). To help me with this task, I've been granted a temporary "edit interface" global privilege. Now I would upgrade it to a permanent one. Thanks Pmartin 17:27, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
- Comment I would think this would require an election for permanent access, similar to Steward elections. I don't imagine an extension of an already-granted access would need it, however. Kylu 19:46, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- It is indeed only a temporary thing, for granting this as permanent right there should be a voting from the community, sorry, --birdy geimfyglið (:> )=| 22:50, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Comment - well you already have Temp editinterface, please make use of it. This right will never be permanent and this is the second time you have been given the right and last time you didn't do much with it, please use it this time and don't ask for a permanent one, global rights are meant to be used and if not used, it will be removed and this temp one will be removed within a week because I don't think stewards will allow temp rights for more than 2 weeks...--Cometstyles 23:18, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- Comment a lot of sysops has reacted that someone was messing with "their" MediaWiki-pages, and this right should not be permanent. Laaknor 00:37, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
