Request for global (un)block

66.99.3.49 - global block or nothing??

Status:    Not done

How do you deal with this: after I deleted a vandalism of 66.99.3.49 in oldwikisource:Talk:Israel [1], the IP did some stupid PAs on my page [2], so that I blocked it. Obviously the IP tried to log in into my account immediately and asked for new password, as I've got a mail from wiki/et/wikimedia.org "... Someone (probably you, from IP address 66.99.3.49) requested that we send you a new Wikisource login password ..." today. Regards -jkb- 09:19, 8 April 2010 (UTC)

Are the password resets coming from different projects or only from oldwikisource? Locally blocked IP addresses are restricted from requesting new passwords. Best regards, — Dferg (talk) 12:25, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Oh, it is in progress :-). Well I've got one mail only from wiki/et/wikimedia.org, re:Password reminder from Wikisource and the text above. I blocked the IP 20:38, 7 April 2010 (locat time Berlin), the time on the Email is 7. April 2010 20:35, I'm not sure what time but I think local as well, i.e. he tried to request the password before having been blocked after I deleted his edits. However, it is not the time he requested the password but the time wikimedia sent me the mail - but probably it happens in the same moment. See the logs w:de:Benutzer:-jkb-/Test3. Regards, -jkb- 13:21, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Sorry for the late reply. As far as I can see you only received one password reset from oldwikisource. As this is not a cross-wiki issue I do not see a need for a global block at the moment. Again, sorry. --Dferg 16:45, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
That's OK. It more or less a question as I was not sure if the IP make one attempt or if it is somebody who will try to do more and could be dangerous in the future. Thanks for your answers. -jkb- 17:20, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

Global block for 83.12.89.186

Status:    Done

I'm not really sure whether to take this request here or to blacklisting, but since the problem only concerns only one IP I think a global block might be able to fix it. This IP has recently spammed an external to about a dozen different Wikipedias, against their respective external links guidelines. Changes of this magnatude, especially on Wikipedias where the user obviously doesn't know the language, are most definitely promotional. Themfromspace 00:23, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

I've globally blacklisted the domain instead. Thanks. --Dferg 18:02, 11 May 2010 (UTC)

Global lock/unlock for Cristián Berríos

Status:    In progress

After I proposed deletion of es:Cristián Berríos on many wikis, I concluded thinking of, these accounts edit very closely and many of them have just voted against the deletion of the article where I have proposed it (Catalan, French and German Wikipedias). It may need a CheckUser. In addition to personally attack, accusing me of jealousy. Seth Garden created Cristián Berríos on the Spanish Wiki many times and expanded it, created articles for his books and poems. Please conclude this at once. Thanks in advance. --Diego Grez let's talk 02:57, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Magically these users appeared after I requested deletion of this article, interesting, eh? --Diego Grez let's talk 23:29, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

Here I'll give you hints:
  • Seth Garden: Sockmaster. Created the article about Berríos on ca.wiki, de.wiki, fr.wiki and en.wiki. x-wiki contribs
  • Random009: link
    dewiki registration date: 16:00, 24 April 2010
    frwiki: 17:13, 24 April 2010
    cawiki: 16:33, 24 April 2010
Commons: 12:49, 26 April 2010 (after I requested deletion of fake images of Berríos)
All of these, wikis where I have requested deletion of this particular article.
Additionaly, it has been particularly attacking me, pointing out my block on the Spanish Wikipedia, a fault I commited more than 3 years ago, and accusing me of jealousy. He has also trolling the people that has voted supporting the deletion of the article in all of these wikis. Including Commons.
  • Dana Marcia:
Only edits on deletion pages related to Berríos.
  • Rodrigo JB: sul cross-wiki contribs
Only edits on Catalan Wikipedia against deletion of the article. Registered there on 15:56, 25 april 2010.
Three minutes later, he came to this page. [15:59, 25 april 2010]

This is all my proof. --Diego Grez let's talk 23:29, 27 April 2010 (UTC)

  • I confirm mass sockpuppetry using eswiki checkuser data:
    • Seth Garden
    • Marcelo Ríos
    • Bien por ti
    • Alegoria
    • Random09
    • Vais Bahia

and using cawiki data:

    • Catalunyalanostraterra
    • Rodrigo JB

It's unlikely that Dana Marcia is related. es:Drini 02:11, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Great. Thanks :-D --Diego Grez let's talk 02:28, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

There's more on Commons' deletion request of Berríos pictures, a comment was made using a French anonimizer [3] and two accounts just registered today, magically cruzados (fans of the Universidad de Chile football club). --Diego Grez let's talk 02:26, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

He also gave the IP he used for Superior selenita, 190.20.161.31, that belongs to Telefónica Chile.

Some more TOR IPs he used on http://de.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:L%C3%B6schkandidaten/23._April_2010&action=history.

109.123.80.69
190.20.161.31 (used also in Commons before)
94.23.197.52

--Diego Grez let's talk 03:42, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Please block this guy. He keeps canvassing users that have supported the deletion of his pictures and articles.

Global lock/unlock for Thekohser

Status:    Done

Please enforce the global ban on Thekohser declared by Jimbo Wales in this edit by locking that user's global account, as suggested in this edit. Thanks!   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 02:57, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Wikiquote:Administrators'_noticeboard#Global_ban_enforcement is a stronger thread than the original I was working with.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 05:12, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
You will have to request that Jimmy Wales enact that ban, otherwise it isn't actually a ban. Prodego talk 05:14, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
I would prefer if you provided other arguments than "jimmy said so". Like for example, him buying a sysop account on enwiki and adding erros to BLP (while already being banned from said wiki), candidating for board and stewardship for the sole purpose of advertising, etc. DarkoNeko 18:54, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Note : He is already locked : [4] DarkoNeko 19:07, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

The SUL account status utility shows that his accounts on Commons, enwikisource, and usability are unattached and unblocked, so the lock may not apply to them.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 21:35, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Commons and enwikisource have local admins to block the account. I've done usabilitywiki.  — mikelifeguard@meta:~$  22:20, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
His account on Commons has been blocked. --AFBorchert 23:05, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank you both. Now only enwikisource is left - see http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Administrators'_noticeboard#Global_ban_enforcement for details.   — Jeff G. (talk|contribs) 23:14, 3 May 2010 (UTC)
He was unblocked on en.Wikinews per consensus to unblock him as far as he doesn't do anything stupid. If he breaks that only condition, indef-block. --Diego Grez return fire 22:40, 6 May 2010 (UTC)

This IP went through a lot of wikis posting an unexisting book as Source or Reference for Bodrum-related articles. This is a cheater blocked on pl.wiki and several others. I talked to him on IRC. The story does not stick together. masti <dyskusja> 23:29, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Stop saying that. I haven't cheated. I just asked for rename kindly on the Polish Wikipedia, subsequently asked you to review it. Earlier today I gained access to my old account, and I asked for unlock to complete the rename process. What Masti did is totally unacceptable. He's blind to look at the irrefutable proof I have: http://en.wikinews.org/wiki/Wikinews:Admin_action_alerts#Update_on_my_main_account http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Special:Log?page=User:MisterWiki@global
You all know the Wikinewsie and Zeusbot net thing. I didn't manage any other account than : MWBot (my failed bot project) ; MisterWiki (the account locked for security) and Diego Grez; my current account. Again. The block in the Polish Wikipedia is unacceptable. Additionally, Masti claims I have socked with "DJ Raiden" (doesn't exists); "Musicfan48" (account I have just used in the English Wikipedia when I did the spam thing" and "Diegogrez" formerly my main account. I don't think a block is needed for something I did 4 years ago and in another wiki! What the? --Diego Grez return fire 23:49, 8 May 2010 (UTC)
Please lock again this account. It is obvious that I won't get any good with it anymore. --Diego Grez return fire 13:56, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

I don't think the locking policy says anything about locking accounts simply because their owner requests so. Also, in the case it was in the policy/allowed, you would have to prove that each of these accounts belong to you. DarkoNeko 17:39, 9 May 2010 (UTC)
