I want to usurp the following accounts for SUL

Help would be great, as admin on de:voy it would be helpful getting the commons-account, because it is necessary for some votes and other stuff - I'm not allowed to vote with my SUL until I get the Commons-account. --Tine (talk) 08:37, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

See Index_of_pages_where_renaming_can_be_requested. Ruslik (talk) 18:37, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
I read that page and followed the links (several times, I have finished about 17 renamings/ usurpations now). Three inactive bureaucrats on de:wikibooks, and als:wp is not listed there. --Tine (talk) 20:19, 21 February 2013 (UTC)
Sorry you have to wait for a long time. I've contacted de.wb and als.wp, and let's see if they respond in a couple of day. If not, one of the steward will do it. Btw, there's also de.wp (1 edit) and commons (0 edit) accounts which are not attached to your SUL. Do you want to list them here also? Bennylin 15:07, 22 April 2013 (UTC)
Now I have to say sorry ... Yes, it would be the easiest way for me if a stewart would attach the de.wp and commons-accout to my SUL also. Thanks! --Tine (talk) 16:22, 12 May 2013 (UTC)

The One

Status:    Not done

Please delete the Global account The One. That account has 55 edits and is blocked because it is sock. I want my account to be renamed to that account. I have made request on en-wiki here and has been advised to make request here. Thanks. Neo. (talk) 11:17, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Generally it is impossible to take over a user name that was already taken by someone else, without that user's agreement, especially if the account made some substantial edits. This is the case here. Therefore I only see it feasible to do this if you can convince the current global "The One" to give up this name.
Additionally, there are not only 11 attached accounts, but also 4 predeceding non-SUL accounts here (sulinfo). The work that would be required from you and stewards and bureaucrats to give you the global account "The One" without unattached accounts not from you would be unproportionally high. Even though that will hopefully soon be reduced by the SUL finalization, I still would consider it quite inappropriate to allow "reuse" of older user names then. --MF-W 12:20, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
But that Global account is sock'" and his master account 'Kalki' is active till date as you can see here. By rules, only one account is allowed and he has already this 'Kalki' account. How can you allow a user to claim ownership multiple sock usernames and force users like me to take permission of sockpuppetier to free one of his account? I don't think there is policy to make agreement with user to release his sock account. Neo. (talk) 12:40, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
If he's still active, that's very good for you so you can ask him you can have the account name and will even be able to be quite sure that you will get an answer. Note also that the use of multiple accounts is not forbidden, only if they are used abusively etc. --MF-W 12:43, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
That user has 219 sockpuppets and you think it is not abuse? It is like some user 'stealing' wikipedia property and then admin-stewards telling other genuine users to 'negotiate with thief' to recover that property for legal use. Is there something like admin's noticeboard here on meta-wiki where I can explain irrationality of negotiating with multiple account abuser? Please guide me. Thanks. Neo. (talk) 13:55, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
The meta admins won't help you - your issue is one for the Stewards to deal with. QuiteUnusual (talk) 14:11, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks. I am seeing that you are also Steward. Will you please help me? Or there should be something like Steward's noticeboard. Pls point me towards appropriate forum. Thanks. Neo. (talk) 14:29, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
I have not said anything with regard to whether this user Kalki abuses sockpuppets or not, just that the usage of multiple accounts is not forbidden per se. As it stands, Kalki registered the user name "The One". Your comparision to say he would be like a thief who stole the name to which you later decided to rename to is completely inappropriate. And you still do not seem to have bothered to ask Kalki about whether he would be willing to let you get a rename to that name. Apparently he is not blocked on en.wikiquote, is active, so what stops you? Questions do not cost anything.
Regarding stewards, you are on a page for steward requests. Stewards notice what happens here. --MF-W 14:46, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Let me try to make sense of your logic. I have also abused accounts years ago. Now what are you trying to give message to wikipedia community that if genuine user like Jimbo Wales want 'Viran' username then he should come to my talkpage and request me politely to 'release' that account. Isn't this laughable? I trolled, abused accounts and you are giving message to community to respect me because I am 'owner' of those sockpuppets. And what if I simply said 'No' to Jimbo wales? What if that 'Kalki' user simply said 'No' to me, ah? Should I (generic) offer him (generic) something to please him to release one of his sockpuppet? I don't see any logic in requesting that 'Kalki' user. Neo. (talk) 15:42, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
If he says 'No' you won't get the user name. Simple case. Vogone talk 15:50, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
Indeed. You want a username that is already taken. Your only way to get it is via agreement of the person who currently has it, regardless of how many other accounts that person has. This is logical because user names are assigned on a "first come, first served" basis. If you don't get the agreement, you need to choose a different name to rename to. --MF-W 00:40, 5 July 2013 (UTC)

I don't think there is policy to deal with such situation. In absence of policy, you stewards are governed by whatever comes to your minds. I will request you because you are legally elected. I will not request to any user who has illegally occupied usernames. The username 'The One' has some meaning. If you give it to me, OK. But I will not beg it from some sockpuppetier. I must respect the sanctity of username 'The One'. Thank you. Bye. Neo. (talk) 19:02, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

Could you please delete the global account Demiurgo? It has 17 edits in es.wiki and is not used anymore. I'd like to have this account because i'm Demiurgo on it.wiki. Thanks.--93.47.250.101 12:25, 8 July 2013 (UTC)

:meta:DemiUrgocontribslogCentralAuthusurp

Please delete also DemiUrgo (11 edits in es.wiki). I can't create "Demiurgo" because "is too similar" to this. Thanks.--93.47.159.44 10:39, 9 July 2013 (UTC)

Sorry, but we do not delete global accounts that are in use and/or have edits. -- MarcoAurelio (talk) 11:26, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
I see that as global account it don't has edits, and it has only 11 edits in es.wiki, the last of them dating back to 26 september 2011. User "Demiurgo" is been deleted by Ruslik (see above), why this "DemiUrgo" is different? Sorry for my insistence, but if I don't create a global account due to this I will be renamed.--93.47.175.3 12:29, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
I don't see the issue. You say your account is Demiurgo, for which currently there is no SUL as it has been deleted. If you visit Special:Mergeaccount while logged in as Demiurgo on your home Wiki it will create the SUL and you will own it. You will then be able to logon to es.wiki using this account. The anti-spoofing check on es.wiki that is stopping you manually creating Demiurgo should not trigger if you are logging on with an existing SUL account. If you own the SUL, you won't be renamed during the SUL finalisation. QuiteUnusual (talk) 12:36, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Thanks for your explanation, but now i'm logged in as Demiurgo on it.wiki and when i visit Special:Mergeaccount it ask me to log. I try to login, so it says "Login error There is no user by the name "Demiurgo". User names are case sensitive. Check your spelling, or create a new account". If i try to create a new account it says that Demiurgo "is too similar" to DemiUrgo...--93.47.175.3 13:03, 9 July 2013 (UTC)
Sorry, but you are doing something wrong. You can not create Demiurgo because it already exists on itwiki. Ruslik (talk) 19:20, 12 July 2013 (UTC)
Yes, i'm Demiurgo on it.wiki, but i can't log in with my password in Special:Mergeaccount. This is evidently due to the existence of this DemiUrgo, that prohibits the creation of a "too similar" account. If you would be so kind to delete DemiUrgo (only 11 edits, not used since 2011) the problem will be resolved. In alternative, i could create a different global account and later ask for change the username in Demiurgo. Could i do in this way?--93.49.149.109 14:08, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, could the accounts above be deleted please"? I tried to obtain it before - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Changing_username/Usurpations#Rainbow_DascC_.E2.86.92_Dashie - but was told to come here instead to get it deleted. Thank you! --Rainbow DascC (talk) 16:52, 16 July 2013 (UTC)

I want to usurp the following accounts for SUL.

Can you give links to your contact attempts? --MF-W 18:16, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi! When I said that I tried but it didn't work was because I wasn't able to look for instructions in English where and how I could be able to request it. I used the index pages you've provided for such matters, but once I got into that wiki... no English ahead my friend, and that´s the reason why I decided to ask for help in this area. --Maverick7 (talk) 21:32, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Hopefully this will be of use then: [1] --MF-W 21:34, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
Thank you! I'll check on that and let you know about it.
I'm still waiting for my request to be processed in dewiki, it seems the local bureaucrats haven't been active since July 4th. Is there something you can do about it or should I still wait for them? [2]. Thanks for your time!--Maverick7 (talk) 20:43, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
The bureaucrats are not totally inactive, so please wait for them. You can also try to ping one of them on his talk page. --MF-W 13:11, 16 July 2013 (UTC)
Hi! I got a negative answer from the local bureaucrats, their reason was because the account was used to upload an image back in 2005, I checked for the file and it seems it has been deleted [3]. Does that makes any difference?--Maverick7 (talk) 19:56, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
The request ends as   not done per their decision. But the account will be renamed automatically anyway in the future. --MF-W 22:33, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Hi, I would like to register as global user, but the name is already taken by those accounts. All of them seems inactive and have no contributions. I am hoping to use the name for my global account, before renamed for SUL finilisation. I want to be renamed to Coldlight with the following accounts // I want to usurp the following accounts

I am trying to be renamed to Coldlight on enwiki. I was told to come here and have the global account Coldlight deleted, along with filing a request to usurp the name on zhwiki (which I've already filed and is currently pending there) before I post back/have my request continue. — The preceding unsigned comment was added by Splitfusion (talk)

The global account Coldlight (whose only attached account was on zhwiki) was deleted. --MF-W 19:42, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
