Hi, Steward Strynk! Forgive me. I really do not understand your response... In fact, searching for 'Abinitio' at the address you have pointed shows this:

Arne

@Arne~dewiki: The username is taken, owns the global account and has valid edits. Please select a new username. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:47, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

I would appreciate, if someone could relate to my arguments, since I think here is the place for humans to have a look on individual renaming cases in regards of the question if renaming is really justified from a practical human point of view, rather than bureaucratic point of view. Reading the case of account Merry above, it seems to be also in my case, that there hase been an automatically computed decision, from which account would it's username been taken away and which account would have the privilege to keep it's account name as a new global account, and that the criteria of the automatically computed decision was the accounts raw edit count.

Is it right to take me away my account name and give it to an account that has made all of it's edits on two consecutive days over ten years before of today, just because it has made more edits on these two days than I have made distributed over the last twelve years of my accounts existence?

I would suffer from a forced renaming of my account since I am a regular editor of Wikipedia and use that account. Would the holder of the other account Arne@ja.wikipedia.org suffer from a forced renaming of it's account? I really doubt that, because that account was only used on two days ten years before of now. Probably, it was created as a fun account and the account holder has either forgotten it's existence and/or has no access to it anymore. Propably, the account holder of Arne@ja.wikipedia.org would never know about the privilege of his japan local account being transferred to a global account, because he has forgotten the existence of that account, while I, as a regular editor who uses it's account would suffer from taken my username away. Would that make sense, would that be fair? --Arne~dewiki (talk) 08:36, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

Before making such a request you should at least notify the user who owns the global account about your desire to usurp it and wait for their answer. P.S. The new account Arne at dewiki was created at 1 May, so the user may be in fact aware of globalization, and regularly log in. Ruslik (talk) 19:46, 20 June 2015 (UTC)
I left a message on the user diskussion page https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%88%A9%E7%94%A8%E8%80%85%E2%80%90%E4%BC%9A%E8%A9%B1:Arne . Maybe the staff users can email the user directly and check if the email gets delivered. That the user Arne@de.wikipedia.org has been created on May 1 maybe was due to my own login as user Arne on de.wikipedia.org. I can still login as user Arne on de.wikipedia.org. After login, I get redirected to being user Arne~dewiki. But if the user suddenly now would say oh my account is so valuable to me after ten years of inactivity I would not let count that. --Arne~dewiki (talk) 15:26, 22 June 2015 (UTC)
@Ruslik0: Sorry, but i have to disagree. The user has 100 valid edits on jawiki (more than Arne~dewiki). We generally not allow such usurpations and i seen no reason for a exception here. --Steinsplitter (talk) 05:01, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
Steinsplitter: The exception is that the target account was created later, used minimally, and inactive for quite a long time. The unification decision was made with a (perhaps overly) simplistic ruleset, and in these edge cases where the calculation would have benefited from further fine-tuning (such as taking into account creation date and last edit) is where global renamers and stewards must apply discretion for enhanced user satisfaction. While balancing the need for unification, our approach should work towards maximum retention of our existing users. Arne~dewiki's arguments are compelling: the jawiki user will not miss their inactive name and would probably understand, in interests of fairness, we should restore it to the user who has used it for longer, and more regularly. –xeno 14:12, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
@Ruslik: The creation of the new local account de:Benutzer:Arne on 1 May is a bug, User:Arne@dewiki himself created this local account by logging into his old user name. See also de:BD:DerHexer#Antrag auf Rückumbenennung von Arne@dewiki zu Arne and the creation of the enwiki account en:User:Arne@dewiki just one minute after that (Special:CentralAuth/Arne@dewiki). In these cases, there isn't a log entry and also no Login Wiki account is being created. So, this is no argument and the other user still is globally inactive. He also doesn’t react on his own jawiki talk page and surely won’t ever use the account again. So, possible activity can't be a reason here, also is that account a younger one.
The only reason can be the edits on jawiki. But I think, the other facts can be a good reason for re-renaming. What if User:Arne@dewiki makes hundreds of further edits in the future, while the other user remains inactive? Then there would be no edit count argument anymore, and he doesn't have so much less edits than the other user also now. And it is the only argument, the scheme doesn't prevent to take account of also other valid arguments. Here are some other arguments:
1st he has the older account (it has been the only account globally at that time), 2nd he has been active since 12 years under that name, while the other user has only been active on two days, 3rd the other user is inactive since 10 years, doesn't react at all and possibly will never ever edit again with the account.
Is there a problem with having the jawiki edits at an account name User:Arne@jawiki in the future? The edit count is now the only argument in the scheme for non-sysops, because it would be too difficult for automatical rename to use also other arguments like how old the accounts were. And sysops weren't renamed, even if they have less edits than other users. So you see, that also other arguments count in that case. Just about 100 edits forever aren't so very many, so it isn't a very good argument here. If there were hundreds or thousands edits on jawiki, this would be another case, but then the user would also have been active for a longer period. --Winternacht (talk) 12:04, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
On hold till 22 July 2015 (pending user reaction). Ruslik (talk) 20:20, 23 June 2015 (UTC)
For the sake of 50 edits difference and no rights with which to contend, and with that period of (in)activity, I personally would think that we could rename the other account in favour of the active user.  — billinghurst sDrewth 03:43, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
By the way: Now there are no 50 edits difference anymore. --Winternacht (talk) 22:05, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

And here you see that he himself created the new dewiki account: m:Special:CentralAuth/Arne, dewiki 1. Mai 2015, 12:52:37, log entry at Arne~dewiki, 1. Mai 2015, 12:52:37, same date and time. --Winternacht (talk) 22:17, 24 June 2015 (UTC)

Done Because here has been raised no concerns after one month i rename the other account in favour of the active user. Arne~dewiki is now Arne and Arne is now Arne~jawiki. --Steinsplitter (talk) 10:31, 22 July 2015 (UTC)
