- Reason: Requesting on behalf of the user, who picked their new name here. Since the user is indef blocked on ruwiki, they couldn't fill the form in at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, so I made the request here, which will also allow the blocking admin to comment. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 13:54, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Im confirming my new name + Nury06
- I've blocked the user on ruwiki, but have no objections against the renaming. -- Q-bit array (talk) 14:09, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Nury06: I see your other requests, rejected due to the block, in which you asked for another username. Are you sure you want to be renamed to "ScpCIag06" (with a capital I and not a small)? Please note that several months may pass before you can make a new request after a rename (except in special cases). Thanks Superpes15 (talk) 14:22, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

Twsabin
- Wiki: meta.wikimedia.org (stewardry • list 'crats)
- Old Username: Twsabin (talk • edits • logs • cross-wiki-contribs • userpages • CentralAuth • GlobalRenameUser)
- New Username: Alalch E. (talk • edits • logs • cross-wiki-contribs • userpages • similar names • UV • CentralAuth)
- Previous renames: current user, target user. Queue: open req, closed req
- Stewards/Global renamers: usurp user, rename user
- Reason: I had an earlier account on English Wikipedia: Alalch Emis. This account was checkuser blocked because of block evasion (which I had done using my present account: Twsabin). However, I successfully appealed (w:Special:Diff/1126035066 – see the summary please; current revision: w:Wikipedia:Arbitration Committee/Noticeboard#Twsabin unblocked), and have returned to good standing from the CU block. I want to make my history of contributions more transparent to everyone by associating more strongly my account (Twsabin) with the old and inaccessible account (Alalch Emis). Editors on projects where I've participated the most are more familiar with me as Alalch Emis; in particular, on the English Wikipedia. Still, there is an entirely separate and coinciding, but also important, reason for me to request a name change: When I created and chose the name for the "Twsabin" account, I chose "Sabin" as a gender-neutral name which I like, and combined it with random letters "t" and "w". Upon a cursory look it didn't seem to coincide with any other online identity, but I was wrong; I have recently found out that there is a person named Tw### Sabin-######## (feels better to partially obscure it) on the internet, with a handle "twsabin" on at least two sites; it seems to be the only person with the handle. I am not this person. I identify much more strongly with the username "Alalch Emis" than with "Twsabin". I would feel more comfortable, and it seems more appropriate, if my account is named some variation of "Alalch Emis". Alalch E. seems fine, but A. Emis is equally fine, and so is anything else like "Alalch Emis new" or whatever. Thank you. --Twsabin (talk) 22:06, 12 December 2022 (UTC)

- New Username: Araz.Zeyniyev (talk • edits • logs • cross-wiki-contribs • userpages • similar names • UV • CentralAuth)
- Previous renames: current user, target user. Queue: open req, closed req
- Stewards/Global renamers: usurp user, rename user
- Reason: I created the current username since I wanted to change my real into this. but it did not happen. My real name is Araz Zeyniyev thus I would like to change it ot Araz.Zeyniyev to connect it my other activities on the internet.
- @ArazZeynili Are you aware of (and comfortable with) the potential implications associated with using a real name? —MdsShakil (talk) 13:04, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I am scientist and edit mostly biology related articles. - No objection to rename as blocking admin. ~StyyxTalk? ^-^ 15:53, 22 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Arman Jandosov: You have been renamed for less than a month and it's generally not allowed to make multiple requests in a short time. It seems to me though that there's a valid reason in this case, as you are probably trying to obtain a nickname. So, also seen the positive opinion of the admin who blocked you, I'm inclined to grant the rename on an exceptional basis, but I've to inform you that your future requests in the short term will be rejected. Could you please confirm that you really want the username QRNKS and that future requests may be denied? Thanks. --Superpes15 (talk) 00:38, 24 December 2022 (UTC)
- @Superpes15: This new nickname will be forever, I agree, Please change. More like a candidate for the administrator of kaawiki, elections are coming, I would like to have a more convenient nickname. Help me please. :Arman Jandosov

- Reason: Phlizz is an old pseudonym I was going by, which I don't really use these days. Since I intend to be more active on here, I'd like to use my main pseudonym as my username. I believe there's an inactive account of the same name created circa 2012 but I don't have the password for it.
- @Phlizz: Hello, neither FredCherrygarden nor Fred Cherrygarden are registered, so we can proceed to rename you to FredCherrygarden if you want. Best regards. --Superpes15 (talk) 16:04, 25 December 2022 (UTC)

- Reason: There is a user with this name in ruwiki; he has a personal page, but it's inaccessible due to software bug that can't be fixed for many years: phab:T238285. Other special pages related to this user, for example his contribs, is inaccessible too: ru:Special:Contribs/Var new username = "Temich";. You can't even send him a mail: special:emailuser/Var new username = "Temich";. We propose to rename him for general convenience. Discussions on ruwiki:

- This seems like a technical issue that should be addressed to prevent users from creating accounts like that. - The account seems inactive thought and almost unused, so don't get how it's causing issues? IMO we should only rename when these problematic accounts are active. There could be many more such inactive accounts. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 13:49, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- The letter ";" is only a issue if it is in the end of the character. Thingofme (talk) 15:37, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- There are lots of accounts with the letter “;” as ending according to [1]. I tried to click the links of those usernames. Some of them do not have the problem but some of them do. I think that the best solution is to solve phab:T238285. 49.197.164.96 01:26, 9 November 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, ";" can be an issue iff it's the last character of the full name and the second-to-last character isn't ";" or doesn't exist (as in, it can't be accessed via adding the name after "/wiki/") – the first link doesn't redirect to the second, the second one redirects to the Main Page. However, accessing a name via appending it to "w/index.php?title=" always works, no matter whether the last character is ";". Alfa-ketosav (talk) 15:29, 27 November 2022 (UTC)
- The letter ";" is only a issue if it is in the end of the character. Thingofme (talk) 15:37, 8 November 2022 (UTC)
- Not done Closing as there's no point in renaming one inactive account when there are many such accounts. Best solution is to fix phab:T238285. cc: MBH. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 14:30, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
Pre-request
- Wiki: meta.wikimedia.org (stewardry • list 'crats)
- New Username: Abecesel (talk • edits • logs • cross-wiki-contribs • userpages • similar names • UV • CentralAuth)
- Previous renames: current user, target user. Queue: open req, closed req
- Stewards/Global renamers: usurp user, rename user
- Reason:
Hi.
- I have lost access to my user account. This happened once again: tr:Özel:KalıcıBağ/21323305#Giriş_Yapabilme.
- The previous time I was able to access it because I could remember my email: tr:Özel:KalıcıBağ/24696588#Gökçe_Yörük. But this time there is no email linked to my account due to my user mistake.
- en:Wikipedia:Request_an_account: "If you have forgotten your password, and you did not register your account with an e-mail address, then it cannot be recovered. Your only option is to create a new account and request a usurpation of your old username."
- According to the text above, I can usurpation my own username. Vincent Vega, LostMyMind and Anerka can confirm that I'm Abecesel based on my real person.
- I wrote to Vincent Vega at the email address we corresponded to earlier, he wrote that some other renamers have different opinions on this matter.
- In anticipation of this matter, it is suggested that users can usurpation their own usernames. There are no more reliable ways that anonymous users can be confirmed.
- For those who are worried: This is always a reversible action. Because I just want to usurpation my username, not the account.
- I will not add any more. If it is decided that the change can be made, I will create a new user account and write to Vincent Vega from the same email address. (Pre-requester)
- This request submitted me via mail. I confirmed this case with LostMyMind and mail address. Vincent Vega msg? 16:34, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- I confirm that the person making this request is the same person with the user Abecesel. --LostMyMind (talk) 16:40, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- Comment Before proceeding with the usurp, you can try to contact Trust and Safety via mail or to open a phabricator task, see for example this request, in which the user regained access after writing to T&S. If you had an email or other data linked to your account in the past maybe T&S is able to access these data. Surely they have access to confidential information that we don't see, so I advise you to contact them anyway! Superpes15 (talk) 16:54, 4 December 2022 (UTC)
- The last action I did on my account was 6 months ago. Superpes15, I tried your solution suggestions after the access ban in Turkey in 2020 and it could not be solved. First time I want to usurpation my own username. I will activate many account recovery methods in the future. (Pre-requester)
- Did you removed the email from your account? If yes then T&S can probably add it again to your account. It's best you contact Trust & Safety about this instead of usurping the account. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 05:12, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- After switching to the new email address, I deleted the previous one. We also corresponded with Vincent Vega at my previous e-mail address. Therefore, he can confirm this change. Gmail won't let me create or recover an address with the same name. So, I can no longer access it. Do I have to create an account for usurpation now? I discovered this solution after considering all the other solutions. This is a situation that can happen to anyone and now I want to use this solution. I have given many sufficient explanations. Good bye. (Pre-requester)
- This is not a solution. Usurpation is not an method to regain lost accounts. Furthermore we don't usurp accounts with valid edits unless the owner is same. Since we can't confirm it's you who was the real owner of previous account, we won't usurp it. I know this sound frustrating but what we the real owner of account left after removing email and scrambling passward and now someone else is trying to regain that account name? If Trust and Safety can't establish it's actually you, how can we? I'd suggest if it's actually you, choose a different username. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 17:20, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- en:Wikipedia:Request_an_account: "If you have forgotten your password, and you did not register your account with an email address, then it cannot be recovered. Your only option is to create a new account and request a usurpation of your old username." :) I am Abecesel and this is confirmed by other reliable users. Currently, the usurpation is a necessity. The rules are not personal. (Pre-requester)
- Additionally, I recommend CheckUser control with the IP addresses I used in this title. You can also ask any questions regarding the content of my deleted changes. (Pre-requester)
- In the reference text, usurpation is suggested when it is not resolved with the email address. This means that it is necessary to prove that you are the owner of the account with different reliable sources. I did that too. There can be no more reliable sources for an anonymous user. (Pre-requester)

- Did you removed the email from your account? If yes then T&S can probably add it again to your account. It's best you contact Trust & Safety about this instead of usurping the account. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 05:12, 5 December 2022 (UTC)
- The last action I did on my account was 6 months ago. Superpes15, I tried your solution suggestions after the access ban in Turkey in 2020 and it could not be solved. First time I want to usurpation my own username. I will activate many account recovery methods in the future. (Pre-requester)

- Comment Based on technical details available in the internal logs (available to the sysadmins), I find the "I forgot my password" story highly implausible, especially considering that this is the second time they claim to lose access to the account (and upon restoration of access, it's reasonable to expect double-checking recovery methods are all set). As such, I recommend fellow global renamers/stewards to decline the request. Sincerely, Martin Urbanec (talk) 14:06, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- This is a mistake due to my decision to leave the project: Special:Diff/23356000, tr:Özel:Fark/27929391. - Yes, I'm also inclined to reject the request based on the current explanation. @AbeceselBot: You say that you have already gone through all these steps in 2020, but in 2020 there was no "AbeceselBot" user (registered in June 2021). So I recommend contacting T&S from the email linked to AbeceselBot (writing to <ca wikimedia.org>), asking for account recovery, as already suggested above by 1997kB and Vincent Vega. Just prove that the account belongs to the same person behind Abecele and I think there is no problem for WMF to recover the previous account. Finally I would like to mention that the "right to vanish" is actually a "courtesy vanish". Thanks for understanding Superpes15 (talk) 17:38, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- AbeceselBot = Abecesel: tr:Özel:Katkılar/AbeceselBot. I'm sending the emphasis of "courtesy" back to you. You must have reached this conclusion by translating the Turkish text with the translator tool, which means that it was translated incorrectly. --AbeceselBot (talk) 17:55, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- I wanted to come back with excitement again, but I got really tired on this title before I came back. If my request above will not be accepted, I want my accounts below to vanished user:
- Abecesel
- AbeceselBot
- Botsal (Special:Diff/23274671) --AbeceselBot (talk) 17:45, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I forgot to mention that the account has an indefinite block and a block log on a project (see log). We are generally reluctant to rename/vanish blocked account, also because the global rename policy states that one rename eligibility criteria is that "The user is not seeking the rename to conceal or obfuscate bad conduct". I too would recommend rejecting the request but I'll leave the decision to other renamers. Best regards. --Superpes15 (talk) 17:58, 7 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hahaha :) It's a local account with only 100 changes. It is a block that was given for a very absurd reason during the period when Turkey didn't accept Sweden into NATO: I didn't want to archive my own message page. I leave you to yourself. Bye. --AbeceselBot (talk) 18:09, 7 December 2022 (UTC)

- Not done Abecesel, Please contact T&S to add email to your account, you can prove your identity by your bot account. In case of usurpation, I believe you are trying to deceive us by claiming to forget the password which doesn't seem to be the case considering Martin Urbanec's comment. So I am closing the request as there's nothing left to do from renamers. ‐‐1997kB (talk) 03:16, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

- Hi @Adalhard Waffe:. It seems that the target said to be against this usurp. At this point, imho it would be enough to add numbers, or something else to the username (so we can proceed immediately with the rename), or maybe you would like to try to usurp "Adalhard"? Alternatively, you can try to clarify to the user what would happen with the usurp, ie that they could be renamed to another username, also because they have never made any edits with that account but, if they refuse, we cannot usurp Adalard (FYI @Vincent Vega:) Superpes15 (talk) 02:03, 19 November 2022 (UTC)
