Пропоную консолідувати та замінити значну кількість елементів на бічній панелі, особливо розділ «друк/експорт», що допоможе покращити можливість ділитися/вивчати статті, а також дасть змогу вирішити бентежну проблему з «соцмережами» у Вікіпедії: новий інструмент можна було б назвати «Поділитися | Цитувати | Експорт». При натисканні на цю кнопку, за задумом, вгорі сторінки мало б відкритися чітке/просте діалогове вікно, в якому б містилися три чіткі групи/вкладки з опціями. Локальна спільнота кожної вікі могла б самостійно визначати, які елементи поміщати в кожну з таких груп. 

Група 1 буде з назвою '''Цитувати''', і вона матиме невеличкі випадні віконця для будь-якого бажаного формату — Harvard, BibTeX, MLA, Zotero... Тут також міститиметься чітке посилання на документацію, на кшталт [[w:Wikipedia:The_Wikipedia_Library/Research_help]]

* It's not user friendly because it's backed by Vega which is a pretty complicated visualization grammar that can do anything. Створіть API та/або GUI, що відображають інформацію на кшталт:
* Як багато переглядів сторінок налічується у статей (не сторінок-перенаправлень), створених користувачем X за весь час?
* Як багато байтів тексту додав користувач X до усіх статей Вікіпедії?
* Скільки днів з моменту створення облікового запису користувач X активно редагує Вікіпедію? І який є рівень його активності протягом останніх 6 місяців?..
* Які 5 вікіпроектних категорій статей найчастіше редагував користувач X за весь час? За останні 6 місяців?

Я думаю, що ці та подібні запити повинні формувати панель дописувача (наряду з іншою статистикою), яка й повинна демонструвати значну кількість збірної інформації про те, хто чим займається, і як багато робить. Метою цього нововведення є створення своєрідних знімків того, над чим працюють люди, що мало б полегшити пошук особи, з якою варто зв'язатися для вирішення певної проблеми, та розуміння того, з ким ти маєш справу. Це б також слугувало як потенційний «ігровий» мотиваційний фактор, оскільки користувачів бачили б ріст своєї статистики з плином часу.

::I love this proposal.  We worked on making pageview stats publicly available, and that will be announced literally within a day or so.  It's not queryable in the exact way requested here, but it wouldn't be hard to add another endpoint.  Look out on the Analytics mailing list for an announcement and comment exactly how you'd like it improved.  And we're focusing on edit data for the next 6 months at least (making it publicly queryable from a stable API).  So the data for this is really close, now we just need some sort of user profile to dump it into, and various teams at the foundation have worked on that. На цій сторінці треба створити можливість сортування, а що ще важливіше — фільтрування: я хочу використовувати її для того, аби бачити лише СВОЇХ студентів. І, при цьому, всіх студентів а не купку з 50, чи до скількох там обмежена довжина таблиці на тій сторінці.
# Спеціальна:Мої_курси потребує архіву, опції автозгортання інформації про студентів, а також можливості визначення кількості днів, які треба відобразити на першій сторінці. Зараз, на жаль, це сторінка, яку я та мої студенти завжди із зітханням оминаємо, оскільки вона є непридатною до використання. Вона стає особливо проблематичною, коли особа, що нею користується, має кілька курсів; зараз я маю чотири курси, і це створює добрячий безлад, оскільки окремі студенти показані у 2+ списках курсів, і при цьому той, що мені потрібен, зазвичай перебуває не вгорі, і т. д.. Я рекомендує повну ревізію того, яким чином ці звіти генеруються, і створення певної ролі в межах спільноти користувачів (на кшталт статусу адміністратора чи редактора шаблонів), яка б давала можливість редагувати код, яким послуговуються ці спеціальні сторінки. Сюди, думаю, було б корисно включити такі функції: 

# Здатність приховувати звіти зі списку, що відображається на певній сторінці, якщо вони не мають відношення до проекту.
# Додавання нових звітів у якомусь окремому налаштовному розділі.
# Здатність модифікувати критерії, за якими генеруються такі звіти.
# Більша гнучкість, що дозволить збільшити довжину звіту, навіть якщо це означає розбити його на 1000-2500 шматків тексту, розміщених на численних сторінках.
Звісно, це лише скорочений список бажаних функцій, і треба буде провести детальніший аналіз проблеми та визначити конкретні вимоги. Its also possible some aren't needed at all and could just be eliminated completely or turned off. For example, Pages without language links is pretty irrelevant for Wikipedia now (although some Wiki's may use it) so maybe that could be an example of one we disable and don't run. Вікіпедія використовує старий сайт [http://stats.grok.se stats.grok.se], який треба оновити за допомогою патчів, аби його можна було коректно використовувати з інших вікі. Про декілька його багів вже давно відомо, однак досі ніхто так і не зайнявся їх виправленням.

З іншого боку, нещодавно розробили інструмент, що показує  [https://tools.wmflabs.org/wikiviewstats статистику вікіпереглядів], та є значно повнішим та більш гнучким, має графічний інтерфейс. На жаль, його праця припинилася, і ніхто не зміг відновити його роботу.

Будь-хто може змінити свої налаштування та додати ''Другу мову'', після чого система автоматично прив'язуватиме будь-яке червоне посилання із синім посиланням на розділ Вікіпедії другою мовою користувача.

:AFAIK there is already a tool for account merging which has several “bugs”, which means that more often than desired it makes the accounts to be merged totally unusable. They therefore hesitate to continue, and probably even consider to not use it at all. IIRC the reason for this problem is that the database of 15 years is too complex to safely merge accounts. TThere are even users who forgot their password and created a new account, but we all know that they are telling the truth. If I see an edit in my watchlist and then look at the article history or at the user's contributions I don't expect the edit summary to have changed in the meantime - that'd be too confusing. Інструмент приймав би численні вхідні дані водночас, скажімо, всі 64 статті, що були відкликані одним махом. Інструмент мав би повертати користувачеві список усіх вікіпедійних статей, в яких такі посилання використовуються у формі цитувань (приміток), та виділяти параграфи статті, де ці цитування використовуються. Це б, сподіваюся, значно підвищило ефективність робочого процесу при роботі з відкликаними статтями журналів. Створення хорошого порталу для [[uk:Вікіпедія:Вікіпроект|вікіпроекту]] є надзвичайно виснажливою справою, та ще й такою, що поглинає чимало часу. Вона вимагає глибоких знань вікірозмітки, синтаксису шаблонів та того, як створити інтерфейс із численними інструментами та ботами, що існують для використання в межах вікіпроекту. Використавши [[Meta:FormWizard|FormWizard]] (або новий, спеціально створений скрипт), інтерфейс майстра можна було б розробити для створення порталів вікіпроектів, що значно б спростило цей процес.

* {{endorsement}} On itWiki I have been asking for at least a non-compulsory standard for the style/layout of Wikiproject and Wikiportals pages... but not enough people were interested so far and projects/portals with strong identities have this fear they would be forced to be less indipendent on the long term... I hardly doubt that... 1 or 2% of projects/portals can be creative and do wonderful things, good for them, but we need some "structure" to provide decent maintenance and support to the "vast majority", espcially now that users contributions are flat or decreasing. Many sections of projects are very often the same such as "articles to do", "related project", "most requested article (red links)", "quality evaluation", "articles under deletion", "articles recently created in the area", "portals under this project's supervision" etc... they are more or less the usual building blocks. The same happens for the portals: "quality image(s)", "good article(s)", "new articles", "related portals", "rotation of selected articles"... at the end the code is usually copy-pasted from project/portals to project/portals with no perpspective and a huge confusion. It's a mess: some sections are updated manually, others are automatic, same sections show different names. An impressive amount of time can be lost making order in this mess when necessary. Usually, newbies try to (re)create or reinvigorate projcts/portals more than old users... It's normal, if old users were interested, they would have already done something... newbies are the fuse or the critical mass of this process and they're often left alone.
