On Saturday 6th July in Victoria Park, Dominic Addison, Race Director of the Pride Run, handed representatives of Micro Rainbow a cheque for £8500 that was raised at the London Pride Run in 2023.

Taking place every September since 2003, the Pride Run is a not-for-profit 10km run through east London’s Victoria Park. Every year it raises money for LGBTQI causes, and the Pride Run has chosen to partner with Micro Rainbow again in 2024, which is the 21st year of the Pride Run.

Since 2012, Micro Rainbow has been delivering a holistic programme of support to LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers, encompassing social inclusion, moving on support and a pioneering safe housing scheme. In 2017, it opened the very first safe house for LGBTQI asylum seekers in the UK. In the years since, this unique safe housing programme has expanded to 20 houses across the country.

Pride Run Committee:

“2023’s run saw around 775 runners take to the paths of Victoria Park to raise funds for Micro Rainbow. We managed to raise £8500 to help Micro Rainbow with its incredible work supporting LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers. We are proud to be working with this charity again this year”

Micro Rainbow CEO Sebastian Rocca said:

“We are extremely proud to be selected as the Pride Run’s benefactor again. The money raised by all the amazing runners in the Pride Run helps to pay the bills for our safe houses for LGBTQI asylum seekers. This donation will help even Micro Rainbow to support even more LGBTQI refugees and asylum seekers in need”.
