It was a pleasure to attend the AI Strategy Forum - AI Beyond the Hype with C-Level in Pfäffikon, Switzerland. The event brought together around 150 executives from all sectors, alongside a distinguished group of Swiss AI start-ups. The forum focused on practice-oriented strategies and use cases, enriched with application examples from leading companies and promising AI start-ups. Frank Diana, Principal Futurist at Tata Consultancy Services, delivered an insightful session titled “Reimagining the Future: A Journey Through the Looking Glass.” In his presentation, Frank guided delegates through a transformative journey, emphasising the importance of learning and unlearning. He identified signals predicting futures across various domains and demonstrated their impacts. Main points from his session included: - The significance of unlearning and learning in a constantly changing world and their role in technological advancement - The immense potential of AI and virtual reality in shaping our future - The notable pace at which sciences are converging, driving technology at an unprecedented speed

Digital literacy is transforming the modern workplace, merging traditional office roles with advanced technological competencies. Senior Cloud Solution Architect at Tata Consultancy Services, Jev Suchoi, shares his insights on navigating this new landscape: - Office professionals now require a mix of skills that were once exclusive to IT experts. From cybersecurity, low-code programming, and data analysis, to cloud solutions and DevOps, the modern knowledge worker needs a broad tech toolkit. - Growing demand for digital literacy in non-ICT roles is driven by a significant personnel shortage in IT. Office professionals need to fill the gap, becoming agile and self-reliant. Mastering tools like MS Power Apps and Google App Maker, for instance, enables employees to develop solutions without IT support. This evolution into a 'citizen developer' role highlights the transformative power of accessible technology. - The 'citizen developer' role empowers non-IT professionals to create tech solutions. - Organisations must foster a culture of 'engineering excellence' to remain agile and innovative.
