Fugees had "Family Business" to attend to at Coachella.

Lauryn Hill joined her son, known professionally as YG Marley, on stage at Coachella Weekend 1 to perform a handful of songs during his set on Sunday, April 14. Her appearance was the first of several surprises during the show, as her Fugees bandmate Wyclef Jean also later stepped out on the main stage to collaborate on a handful of songs.

According to Setlist.Fm, the R&B icon, 48, stepped out after the reggae star, 22, played a handful of his own hits. She treated the crowd to powerhouse renditions of two of her solo classics — "Ex Factor" and "Lost Ones" off her iconic 1998 album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill — which her son (whose real name is Joshua Omaru Marley) assisted her on with ad-libs.

The two musicians then welcomed Jean, 54, and they joined forces for a mini Fugees reunion. (The trio's third member, Pras Michel, was not present at the music festival set.)

"So, YG, before you were born, we used to do something like this," said Hill, who was wearing a bright yellow suit, before breaking into the Fugees' classic "Killing Me Softly with His Song." After several verses into the song, Jean ran out onto the stage to applause.

The Haitian artist posted a video of the moment on Instagram and wrote in the caption, "Did this just happen at #coachella ? @ygmarley @mslaurynhill."

The hip-hop star shared additional footage from the set at the Indio, California music festival, including their performance of "Ready or Not," during which he and Marley wrapped their arms around one another.

According to Billboard, Marley filled in on Michel's parts during "Ready or Not," and the musicians also played Fugees' "Fu-Gee-La" together.

Marley — who is Hill's third-born of six and she shares with her former partner Rohan Marley — also paid tribute to his grandfather Bob Marley during the set. The group honored the late reggae icon by playing covers of two of his hits: "One Love" and "Exodus."

In the caption of another video of the reunion taken from the side of the stage, Jean wrote, "It’s a family affair @ygmarley @fugeesworldwide."

Hip-hop legend Busta Rhymes also thrilled the crowd by stepping out to perform a handful of tracks, including his 1997 tune "Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See."

Fugees reunited last year to join Hill out on the road for a major anniversary tour in commemoration of her Grammy-winning album turning 25.

The tour ended up being cut short, as Hill began experiencing vocal issues, but it ran for a period in late 2023 in anticipation of Michel's upcoming sentencing, as he was found guilty of conspiring to help China influence the U.S. government.

Jean and Michel, 51, also surprised the audience at New York City's Global Citizen Festival in September of last year by stepping out during Hill's headlining set.

Hill, Jean and Marley were among the star-studded performers at Coachella 2024, which was headlined by Lana Del Rey, Tyler, the Creator and Doja Cat.

The major music festival will return for Weekend 2 from Friday, April 19 to Sunday, April 21.
