Glen Powell Shares Sweet Post (Plus a Steamy Photo!) Celebrating His Dog Ahead of Twisters' Release

Life wasn't too "ruff" on the set of Twisters for Glen Powell, thanks to his dog Brisket.

On July 8, the Hit Man star, 35, posted a slideshow of pictures on Instagram, celebrating his rescue dog Brisket and the joy the pup brought to the action movie's set before the film's July 19 release.

"Shortly after being adopted, @hotbrisket joined the cast of 'Twisters' and was quickly called 'the Lassie of his generation,'" Powell cheekily captioned his Instagram post, tagging the dog, who has over 27,000 followers as of July 8.

"Rumors are swirling of him leading a 'Homeward Bound' reboot that would crown him as 'Hollywood's King of the Animal Kingdom,'" the proud pet parent added on social media.

The social media update included shots of Brisket lounging in a director's chair, the beloved dog getting cuddles from Twisters' cast and crew, and Brisket and Powell donning matching cowboy hats.

The final slide is a steamy mirror selfie of a toned Powell wearing only a towel while holding Brisket, the dog.

Powell adopted Brisket from the Labelle Foundation in July 2023, joking that he needed extra security. "It's a ruff world out there, so I thought it was about time I hire a proper bodyguard," he wrote on Instagram in 2023.

Powell told PEOPLE in June how close Brisket got with the Twisters team.

"Everybody can be a dog dad, but I really feel like I bring him everywhere, so he really has so many co-parents," he said.

He added that while filming Twisters, "every department was taking care of Brisket," including his costar Daisy Edgar-Jones. The actor said that since Brisket is socialized and small, the pup has "been on every corner of the planet at this point, and he's unfazed by anything."

Powell even thinks that his dog is more famous than he is. In June, he told PEOPLE that a girl once walked up to him in New York City and recognized Brisket before clocking the dog's famous owner.

"He's definitely developed a following, for sure," Powell said.

Twisters hit theaters on July 19.
