Regina King

Regina King is an American actress and director. She rose to fame in 1985 on the NBC sitcom 227 as Brenda Jenkins. King's most famous films include Boyz In The Hood (1991), Poetic Justice (1993), Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous (2005), Ray (2004) and The Harder They Fall (2021). King made her feature directorial debut with the 2020 Amazon Prime film One Night in Miami. She also directed episodes of Scandal, Being Mary Jane, This Is Us, Insecure and Shameless.  In 2019, King received her first Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in If Beale Street Could Talk. She has also won four Emmys, including back-to-back wins in 2015 and 2016 for her performance on the American Crime anthology series. In 2018, she received an Emmy for outstanding lead actress on Netflix's Seven Seconds and another in 2020 for HBO's Watchmen.
