Wynonna Judd to Celebrate 'Milestone Year' with Upcoming 'Greatest Hits' Shows in Las Vegas

Wynonna Judd has the perfect celebration in mind to commemorate her milestone year of performing live.

On Monday, July 8, the country music star, 60, announced that she’s returning to The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas in December after nine years to salute her dynamic career and, more importantly, to honor her 40th anniversary as a live entertainer with a trio of Greatest Hits shows.

“Sometimes I feel like you just need to throw a big party for yourself!” Wynonna — who began her career run as one-half of the legendary mother-daughter duo, The Judds — shared in a statement, adding, “This is a milestone year for me.”

“Mom and I played our very first show in 1984, which means I’ve been performing live for 40 years. That’s more than half of my life!” she continued. “‘The Greatest Hits’ celebration is a chance for the fans and I to celebrate. They have been with me for so long, and my hope is that everyone will get to hear their favorite song. How many hits can we fit into one show? Let’s find out!!!!”

The Country Music Hall of Famer’s upcoming shows are scheduled for Dec. 11, 13 and 14 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale on Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m. PT.

Wynonna last performed a nine-show run at The Venetian Theatre during The Judds – Girls Night Out residency with her mother, Naomi Judd, in 2015. The latter — also a renowned country legend — died by suicide in April 2022 at the age of 76. 

"Today we sisters experienced a tragedy,” Wynonna and her sister, Ashley Judd, announced in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “We lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness. We are shattered. We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public. We are in unknown territory."

Wynonna reflected on her mother’s death in a recent interview with PEOPLE before she performed the national anthem at the Kentucky Derby in May.

"I feel her, and I miss her terribly," the singer said somberly of her iconic mom. "It's the 'best and the worst of times' kind of thing, where you're keenly aware of where you were and what was going on, on that day.”

She added, "I think about everything differently now, now that Mom is gone."

Among other milestones being celebrated this year, Wynonna marked the start of her 60s in May by recreating a sweet throwback childhood photo of herself on Instagram, which sees her all dressed up in a velvet chair with bright red pumps and a cigarette in hand. She captioned the post, “SIXTY. 👠💄✨.”
