-
S.E. Cupp: Grieving the Insanity
Republicans wanted a 'do no harm' convention, but it was too corporate and lacked any joie de vivre. And then they ended the affair with grievance, fasci Tucker, and 96 minutes of weird incoherence from Trump.
-
Adam Kinzinger: Everything Is on the Line
Republicans are tamping down the crazy and the weird at the convention—like no election fraud, no abortion ban talk, and no vaccines—to present their dangerous agenda in a non-threatening way.
-
Jeff Sharlet and Joe Perticone: The Confidence of a Bully
Trump's shark/electrocution anecdote was not a sign of deterioration. Trump is actually getting better at communicating a solid message in a carnivalesque atmosphere.
-
Alyssa Farah Griffin: National Unity Is Not Where the GOP Is
J.D. Vance is an incredibly polarizing figure, and his addition to the ticket signals a complete realignment of the Republican Party.
-
Bill Kristol: Not Resigned to a Trump Presidency
We begin with a rejection of the fatalist rhetoric from the left. It may be an uphill battle, but the pro-democracy forces have to keep our morale up and be creative.
-
Sam Stein: Violence Is Not the Answer
In this bonus episode following the assassination attempt on Trump, The Bulwark's managing editor Sam Stein joins Tim Miller to discuss the precarious moment we are in, how to dial back the temperature, and how both parties should respond to the violence.

Why not split the ticket?
I enjoy your show even though I would likely disagree with much of your politics if Trump weren’t warping everything toward fascist disaster.
Why aren’t people (like you) suggesting the Dems split their ticket?
Obviously Biden can’t effectively win this race. Trump and Trumpism need to be defeated at all costs, because if they get to power, they will not let us vote them out again. I think aggressive action is necessary, so why shouldn’t we all put country over party, and once Biden steps aside, suggest, say, a Kamala Harris/Liz Cheney ticket? Newsome/Murkowski?
Not likely, I know, but it would give cover to undecideds and fence-sitters and GOP nose-holders so they could ditch Trump.
I can’t stand Cheney’s politics either, but at least if she were VP we would have a country left to argue over. We are in a desperate moment. I don’t think we can leave it up to chance.
Then I can go back to asking is all to focus on the climate again, please.
