The couter neb or marrot (Alca torda) is a colonial seabird that anly comes tae land in order tae breed. This agile bird chooses ane pairtner for life; females lay ane egg per year. Razorbills nest alang coastal cliffs in enclosed or slichtly exponed crevices. The parents spend equal amoonts o time incubatin. Ance the chick haes hatched, the parents tak turns foragin for thair young an sometimes flee lang distances afore findin prey.

The Razorbill is primarily black wi a white unnerside. The male an female are identical in plumage; however, males are generally lairger than females. In 1918, the Razorbill wis pertectit in the Unitit States bi the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Presently, the major threat for the population is the destruction o breedin steids.[citation needit]
